Important Role of Dispatching Software and Dashboard Camera in Logistics Industry

Dispatching Software is designed to automate routing and scheduling processes and provide a simpler and efficient route to complete the task. Dispatching Software can be customized in scheduling future appointments.

Dispatching software is digital solutions that allow organizations to complete the tedious jobs like tracking of fleets in transit, tracking of equipment locations, determination of sufficient inventory and assigning tasks among the employees. Dispatching Software has been designed to help improve the efficiency of the organization and help in taking quicker decisions.

A Dispatching Software allows organizations to oversee their operations from the shipping sector to the airlines sector and more.

Features of Dispatch Software

Convenient Communication

The Dispatch software helps in conveniently setting up a communication channel between the dispatcher and drivers. It allows them to share key information on-the-go. It allows the drivers to conveniently share information about travel routes, shipment alerts, assignment details, and much more.

GPS Tracking and Mapping

GPS Tracking helps in predicting traffic situations and assists in selecting the route in an efficient manner. The GPS tracking and mapping feature provide the organization with real-time access to the traffic conditions, which makes it easier for the organization to adapt and select the best routes. It also provides a real-time update of every driver and helps the organization track how fast their drivers are moving.

Automated Scheduling

Dispatching software provides organizations the ability to handle tasks in an efficient manner. The software automates the tasks that require manual labor to increase efficiency. It either partially or fully automates tasks such as scheduling, assigning tasks to drivers and tools to help them make informed decisions. As employees spend less time scheduling and administrative tasks, it allows them to concentrate on other strategic tasks.

Advantages of Dispatch Software

Management of Transportation

Dispatching software helps in managing every aspect of the transportation process. It helps in tracking locations and status of the job completed with interactive maps and GPS, giving dispatchers complete information on the whereabouts of their drivers and the tasks completed. The software helps in providing optimized routes to help increase efficiency and helps the organization to provide consistent quality service.

Quick Response

A trucking driver could face several issues while on the road. There are thousands of things that could go wrong while being on the road. The dispatching software can help reduce the issues faced by the drivers as the real-time data provided by the software about the location of the driver helps in resolving the issue quickly.

Flexibility

The dispatching software offers flexibility to simplify their dispatch management, as it gets complicated as the organization starts growing size. The software can be personalized to meet the unique needs of the business organization.

Dashboard Camera

In the trucking industry, more and more truck drivers are installing multi-facing dashboard cameras (road-facing and driver-facing dash cams) because of the numerous benefits they offer. The ability to rewind and analyze a high-speed critical safety event is probably the biggest benefit for truckers.

A few other ways where a trucker dash cam can be a beneficial investment:

Lower Insurance Rates

Installing a dashcam is a sure-fire way to give the impression that you are a safe driver to the vehicle insurance provider. They generally offer some discount on the insurance premiums if they see a dashcam installed. They may, however, like to leverage this technology to access the dashcam data (location, miles driven, etc.) for their own research.

Reducing False Claims

According to a study, passenger vehicles are at fault for the majority of road accidents. Still, in the case of an accident, truckers are also required to be in court and legal fees for them as well as time away from work is financially draining. Trucker dash cams allow you to rewatch any accidents and debunk false claims.

Speed Up Insurance Claims

Dashcams have the potential to change the way insurance companies deal with insurance claims in the trucking industry. With more evidence, insurance companies will better understand the context and settle claims faster.

For example, if all truckers as a practice begin using dashcams actively, in case of an accident the insurance companies will have two points of view before the accident. This will help them understand the context better and find out that it was actually a traffic light malfunction and not the driver’s fault.

Mobile Surveillance

Truck drivers who take on multi-day deliveries often need to stop over a resting spot after driving their permissible Hour of Service for the day or a night’s sleep. While they may choose to sleep in a motel room, drivers are under constant fear about the well-being of their truck. They are constantly fearful of someone breaking into the cab or its cargo hold.

Bengaluru Startup's Innovation lets you Track Your Dear Ones using WhatsApp

Bengaluru based startup TrackMyPhones, a leading mobile tracking service provider, has come up with a simple innovative solution to trace your dear ones by means of a mobile. Now, one can track their dependents via mobile messenger – WhatsApp, by just sending a WhatsApp message from their phone to the target device.

With security issues becoming a major challenge in today’s world, we are always concerned about our dear ones, whether it’s about our child not returning from the school on time or the security of our old parents travelling alone, the worries are endless. The app helps you locating the phone and tracks it physically by playing a loud siren, vibrating or turning on the flashlight to inform. Additionally, Track My Phone using WhatsApp also notifies about battery charge status.

Expressing his delight over the launch, TrackMyPhones founder Mr. Srihari Karanth said, “Our vision is to help the society by leveraging technology to minimize the vulnerabilities of the cyber-space. After the success of Track My Phone, which helps get details of the phone by sending commands from the website, we decided to launch the app to control mobile via WhatsApp. TrackMyPhones offers more than 20 dedicated apps focused on anti-theft, remote monitoring, parental control, and women safety. We wish to continue working for the benefit of the society."

Co-founder Mr. Shrinidhi Karanth said “Tracking your dear ones especially when they are not technology savvy to share their location is a challenge. You have to call them up and they have to ask people around to know the location when on commute. On another note, during emergencies such as accident, when an injured person or a victim during any mishap is not able to respond through mobile, one can locate them through this app. You can also locate your dear ones’ whereabouts through this app without disturbing them. So, we thought of getting location from the app which is most commonly used and WhatsApp was the first thing that came to our mind."

Furthermore, TrackMyPhones is planning to add more features like getting picture from front and back camera as reply to WhatsApp command to know more specific details.

Addressing concern over security, Srihari added, “Commands needs to be sent with 4 digit pin. The user must add contacts to the whitelist in the app, only then the app will reply to the commands from that specific contact. Only authorized user will be getting the reply to ensure safety and security.”

The app also works when the command is sent via WhatsApp groups when the group is added to the white list. If everyone in the group has the app installed, then one command will help to get to know the location of each individual as well it can also trigger an alarm to everyone in the group immediately to help or locate them.

TrackMyPhone using WhatsApp allows performing following commands during emergencies:

Help PIN: Sends the list of Commands that can be executed.
Location PIN: Get the Google Map location of the device. GPS needs to be enabled for this to work.
Siren PIN: Rings a loud siren by increasing the volume even when the mobile is in silent mode. Helps track the phone when misplaced.
Vibrate PIN: Vibrates the phone for 10 seconds.
Torch PIN: Switches flashlight on for 30 seconds.
Battery PIN: Get the battery charge status to keep yourself informed about how low the battery is.
App PIN: Replies with App URL, for others to download.

To enhance the product further by getting into B2B space, the company is planning to add WhatsApp Auto-Responder App through AI. Businesses can send automated reply over WhatsApp for frequently asked questions by customers and even initiate further action like raising a ticket for an issue reported, reducing human interaction.

TrackMyPhone’s apps together have crossed 9 million downloads and the number is multiplying rapidly due to the efficient and one-of-its-kind features of the platform.

Find the app on GooglePlay: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.allcallapps.trackmyphonesusingwhatsapp

Founded in 2016, Bangalore-based start-up TrackMyPhones (TrackMyPhones.com) offers a suite of apps for anti-theft, remote monitoring, women safety, parental control etc. with host of features like getting location in real time, monitoring what apps the user has installed recently, keeping a check on kid's online activities by looking at their browser history, call logs, pictures and videos in the gallery, all online.

This round of investment was not simply to secure funds for Letstrack, but more aimed at bringing additional talent into the company at the highest level. James Arthur offered, not just a clear understanding about the road Letstrack is travelling, but firm ideas about how to help accelerate growth and expand internationally.

Letstrack is set apart by its ability to innovate with a software company at its core, and push that innovation out nationwide with it’s pan India service coverage.

Letstrack is the first organized and specialized company in the tracking sector and this is proving to be a huge factor when customers and businesses are deciding who to place their trust in when chose a product as integral to their everyday safety and productivity as a GPS tracking solution.

Letstrack’s success has accelerated with 30% month on month growth since James joined in as the COO.

In India, Letstrack faces competition from Map My India, TrakNTell and CaRPM. While Trak N Tell is focussed on personal car safety solution and is backed by WhatsApp co-founder Brian Acton, Autosense is a startup which provides technology and analytics-based customer management solutions was part of a $11 Mn investment made by TVS Automobiles.

Another similar startup is Delhi-based HyperTrack, which is a location platform offering developer tools for large and independent mobile application companies. Its toolset contains iOS, and Android SDKs which generate live location data, that is then used to build use cases like live order tracking, mileage tracking, workforce monitoring, live location sharing etc.

Recently, GPS/GSM vehicle tracking startup Ridlr got acquired by Ola in an all cash and stock deal. Moreover, just yesterday Delhi-based Roadcast, which is a GPS based real-time tracking platform, raised $250,000 in an angel round of funding from high-net worth individuals (HNIs) from the United Arab Emirates.

James will be joining Letstrack as the COO and will be focusing on bringing international expansion forward with an anticipated 50 countries being launched by 2020. James has a specialist skill set in enhancing customer experience and polishing the brand.

Various interested parties looked at contributing factors to company valuation and multiple offers were made at a valuation of $17 M. This round of investment was not simply to secure funds for Letstrack, but more aimed at bringing additional talent into the company at the highest level. James Arthur offered, not just a clear understanding about the road Letstrack is travelling, but firm ideas about how to help accelerate growth and expand internationally.

Founded in 2015 by Indian entrepreneur Vikram Kumar, Letstrack has manifested an extraordinary performance to emerge as one of the leading GPS tracking startups in UK and India.

Putting the long-term needs of the customer above short-term gains have driven app use and hardware sales growth at an unprecedented rate in the industry.

Commenting on the investment, James Arthur, said, “Vikram and I share the same core values and our complementary strengths can only serve to take Letstrack to the next level even faster. We believe that with the direction we are headed and the way the company walk side by side with our customer’s needs and company ethos, there is no limit to where we can end up."

Vikram Kumar (CEO and Founder), said, “For me, it was a no-brainer because James was not only bringing money but also dedicating the next 10 years and for Letstrack that is invaluable. Now we have an investor and partner who compliment the missing capabilities of Letstrack and we can only say that the future is brighter than ever."

Notably, India is only lacing up in terms of leveraging GPS to its full potential and the people are not quite acquainted with this technology.
