Trell Conducted Masterclass with Celebrity Chef Ranveer Brar & Leading Lifestyle Influencer, Nilu Thapa

Ranveer Brar and Nilu Thapa shared their professional journeys and how to create engaging content

India, 8th July 2021: Content creators today have become a major part of our lives. Be it brands, or consumers everyone depends on content creators either to engage with social media users, to influence the decision of buyers, and to make recommendations which will be beneficial for both the brand and the consumer. Not just buying decision, content creators also influence the way we live our life.

Against this backdrop, Trell, India’s number one lifestyle videos app conducted an insightful Masterclass on 2nd July with celebrity chef Ranveer Brar and Nilu Thapa, a leading Lifestyle and Beauty Influencer, and content creator on Trell. Ranveer Brar and Nilu Thapa shared their life lessons, experiences and useful tips for budding content creators.

The world-renowned culinary chef, Ranveer Brar said, “ The only secret recipe about good content I have nailed down is that I took some time to discover myself in front of the camera through my content. In order to be authentic and to be able to connect with people, it’s important to learn and recognise to be yourself, be unique, and comfortable with your flaws.“

“The biggest life lesson that I can share is to be patient and consistent with your content. A viral video doesn’t ensure huge followers but a viral video does ensure exposure. He further added.

Nilu Thapa, Leading fashion and beauty influencer and content creator on Trell shared “It is very important to have a vision when you create content, to have your own identity, vibe and signature. If you create the content blindly by following trends, it might not appear authentic to your audience, and you won’t be able to relate to it as well. It’s essential to create content which is organic, unique and of best quality.”

Parul Menghani - VP & Head of Content at Trell said, “The aim of this Masterclass was to give a platform to content creators to learn from renowned influencers and better their content creations on social media. We plan to do a lot of initiatives for content creators and provide them with better opportunities which can help them to grow along with Trell.

Trell’s masterclass, besides being informative, was also engaging for the audience, making it hugely successful. With 45 million+ monthly active users, the platform has content creators creating content on various categories including health and fitness, beauty and personal care, travel, food, and more. Trell, further, plans to conduct more such workshops in the future.

How Blogger is Helping Adoption of Stray Dogs

Dog with Blog started small, having local nuances integrated and looking for basic questions like what if someone wants to adopt a dog in an Indian city - what information would he need - how, where, when, etc. What would the search journey be like - how can we tap and maybe, convert people looking to buy ‘pedigree’ and help them see the goodness that comes with adoption, etc.

Abhishek was driven by what he was seeing, an odd post could drive more interest regarding adoptions than multiple visits around residential societies and putting out posters. His plan in the early stage was to build a community of like-minded dog lovers. It started with writing which led to building a network of volunteers who would be helping at other shelters etc. This helped track adoption cases and we could centrally share and follow up with the prospective leads and families.

The power of social media is unquestionable and the very fact that they have been able to find some of the strays, abandoned dogs loving homes bears testimony to the same. Minus the digital channels, there wasn’t an efficient way to reach out to dog lovers across the length and breadth of the country. They have also compiled and listed city-wide rescue and adoption centers so that people who were considering ‘buy dogs’ can also explore shelters and adoption. Abhishek attributes the community culture to be the core of the blog, wherein the readers are actively helping spread the word for adoptions.

Dog with Blog believes that aside from fostering and volunteering, there are many ways one can advocate for a social cause like animal rescue. Even something as simple as sharing an adoption appeal can be the difference-maker when it comes to a homeless animal getting a chance at love and life. While they don’t own a physical shelter or facility, the blog has great resource tools for those who are interested in getting involved locally, be it via volunteering, foster, or getting a pet home. The detailed posts (and now also a podcast) try to address queries that first-time pet parents may have.

Abhishek has tapped into the reach that the internet provides for something good and it is an example of how anyone involved in a social cause can use social media even if they are an individual and not an NGO or international charity. Aside from adoptions, the blog also raises awareness about native Indian dog breeds like Rajapalayam, Bhutia dogs, etc., and also ridicules archaic practices like how some people consider black cats as bearers of black luck.

Dog with the blog has a vibrant Facebook page, a growing Instagram channel but Twitter is where they drive most engagements. At present, there are more than 1,20,000+ dog lovers in this community. They use the blog and social media channels to reach out to people who want to adopt and not buy pets. Thanks to this, the adoption stories are now reaching a wider audience than before, apart from the conversations they can lend themselves to. They also celebrate happy dog rescue and adoption stories by interviewing the pet parents or hosting guest posts to inspire and motivate others to consider adopting a pet too. The timely upbeat, happy news, brings a smile to the community reemphasizing the role dogs play in our daily life.

5 Tips to Earning Money Through Blogging

Blogging is a satisfying hobby for those with a passion for particular subjects. However, what many people do not know is that it could be a great channel for earning money for part-time and full-time bloggers. Others have tried to make their blogs work to no avail. Here are some tips for turning blogs into small businesses.

  1. Setting Up Your Blog

For those who would like to make money through blogging, having a blog is a must. It may seem like an overwhelming process, but its fruits are worth it. There are a number of things to consider in setting up a blog. They include:

  1. Choosing a topic. Bloggers should refuse any temptation of creating blogs that combine several different interests. They should always keep their sites in focus.

  1. Choosing a domain name. It is most likely that bloggers would stick to domain names that they picked for their sites for the rest of their lives. This avoids disruption of traffic to sites once they are established. Besides, bloggers who change their domain names have to start all over again with a zero Google page ranking.

  1. Choosing good web hosts. For any website to be successful it must have a good web host. It improves bloggers’ SEO and increases their sales. It also protects websites from malware and other security attacks. Bloggers should hire affordable, reputable, and experienced web hosting companies such as MangoMatter.

  1. Installing WordPress. This is the best platform that bloggers can use. Luckily, most hosts provide easy installation options from within people’s accounts.

  1. Uploading beautiful themes. There are many themes available online for free. There is also the choice of paying for premium ones. Whichever the choice, good themes make blogs look professional and attractive.

  1. Creating Awesome Content

Any blogger who wants to make money must create and publish content that attracts plenty of traffic through search engines and social media. Using keyword tools such as SemRush could give ideas of what audiences search for the most. Researching for the content they share most on social media is also vital.

Whichever topic they get from research, bloggers should write posts that could help their audience reach certain goals. The posts should be unique and outshine what competitor blogs offer. After this step, bloggers should promote their posts in order to gain traffic.

  1. Developing Your Email List

Bloggers do not just want visitors to their blogs. They want people who can read and share all the posts that they write. An email list could help bloggers remind their audience of the posts they have not read and encourage them to have a look at new ones.

  1. Building Trust through Free Content

People cannot buy from anyone they do not trust. Bloggers should, therefore, send their audience some free and valuable content. Once they see the posts helping them, they would trust the information and begin buying. This is because they would get curious about how valuable paid content is.

  1. Know Your Audience’s Needs

After building and gaining the trust of their audience, some bloggers assume what potential customers really need. Doing proper research ensures that entrepreneurs understand their audience’s greatest problems and the possible solutions. Then, bloggers can create products and services to meet those needs.

Not Many Knows That WordPress Maker quietly Acquired The Rights To .blog In 2015

Bloggers all round the world trust Wordpress blindly. The platform has over the years been successful in amalgamating the passion of blogging with monetary compensation. Automattic, the company behind the world’s most popular publishing platform, Wordpress, is now trying to take blogging to a whole new level and make .blog a reality.

Automattic has recently secured the rights to operate and oversee the sale and registration of .blog domains. This action has been taken more than a year after the top-level domain went up for an auction and was sold to a mysterious buyer during the same.

According to the company's spokesperson, its subsidiary, Knock Knock Whois There LLC, has won the partnership rights with Primer Nivel, a company conceived to acquire top-level domains. Matt Mullenweg, CEO, Automattic, has revealed that buying the rights to run the domain has cost both the companies about $19 million. A report last year had predicted the deals cost at around $20 million.

Automattic is currently considering offering the domain to WordPress.com users, but not in an exclusive manner. According to the company, the .blog domain will be in fact made available to everyone, regardless of the fact whether they have a free or paid website or which hosting service they're availing.

WordPress.com owners will make the .Blog domains available to everyone by the end of 2016 after giving the first usage advantages to trademark owners in August and early applicants in October. If you're one of the interested buyers for the .blog domain, you can sign up for the same here.

IIT Roorkee students to keep the spirits of new bloggers alive

theblogbowl

Shaumik Daityari and Kshitij Awadhiya are building a blog directory of different kind where you can share and discover blogs. "The Blog Bowl" as it is called encourages the non-bloggers to join and participate in the regular contests that keep happening on their website.

We asked them the idea behind starting up and they said, "On one hand they were giving a lot of preference to the sponsors, and on the other hand, the bloggers were being exploited at the end of the day. Even though bloggers came up with blogs on time, when it was the time to distribute prizes, the sponsors would take months." They realized that few bloggers won prizes due to the blind praise of sponsors but few new bloggers with innovative content (including humor/satire) were rejected. "This was basically killing the spirit of new bloggers", says Shaumik.

What keeps the bloggers hooked to the site are regular contests. Sponsors of these contests try and promote their product or service through the bloggers and the best blogs are given prizes. The participants are offered significant amounts of talk times and the prizes are shipped off one day after the results. ‘Another point of difference is that you don’t need to have an established blog to be a part of our family. If you just have a wild idea to write on, go ahead and do it on our platform, aptly titled Your Voice’ says Kshitij.

They have partnered with Cognizance (tech fest of IIT Roorkee) to hold Blogomania, the yearly blogging contest. "This was a big event and our user base increased significantly due to combined popularity", they say. Based out of Roorkee, this team of founders with a designer do everything from backend running on Python/Django to front end working on JavaScript/jQuery.

The team now plans to expand into Picture Posts and launch an app so that people can take pics and instantly write few lines about it and post it to our website. As a message for future entrepreneurs the founders say, ‘There can be scope even for an existing product if one closely identifies commercially exploitable flaws in the existing ones.’
