Fashinza, an AI-driven B2B Marketplace for Fashion Supply Chains, Raises $30 Mn Funding from Mars Growth Capital and Liquidity Group

Fashinza, an AI-driven B2B Marketplace for Fashion Supply Chains, Raises $30 Mn Funding from Mars Growth Capital and Liquidity Group

Fashinza, an AI-driven B2B marketplace for global fashion supply chains, today announced that it has secured $30 million working capital funding from Mars Growth Capital and Liquidity Group. Liquidity Group is a pioneering technology firm that has become the industry’s fastest-growing lender to mid-market, late-stage companies globally by automating the entire debt lending cycle. The funding will fuel Fashinza’s ongoing transition into a global business with significant operations in the USA, Gulf, and Europe.

Fashion is constantly evolving, but never more than now in the age of Tiktok and Instagram, influencing fashion choices on a global scale instantly. To stay ahead of the curve, fashion brands must be very agile and have highly efficient supply chain management. This is impossible if they rely solely on large-scale manufacturers as in the past. Fashinza provides an innovative solution for this problem by connecting SMEs directly to top fashion brands across the world. By creating an online platform that allows both buyers and sellers to connect seamlessly, Fashinza is revolutionizing the way fashion works in today's high-speed digital age.

"Fashinza is transforming the global fashion supply chain. Their performance since inception, the strength of their founding team, and their existing global network of manufacturers and customers gave us enough confidence in their ability to scale this business and sustain in the medium- to long-term," remarked Navas Ebin, Managing Director of APAC for Mars Growth Capital and Liquidity Group.

"As we focus on expanding our presence in international markets, including the USA, we are excited to partner with Liquidity Group to support our growth and to bring our innovative manufacturing solutions to a global audience," said Abhishek Sharma, Co-Founder and COO of Fashinza. “With their flexible cross-border financing solutions and extensive knowledge of navigating international markets, we are confident that we can successfully penetrate new markets and provide our manufacturing solutions to key clients worldwide. At the same time, we remain committed to delivering exceptional service to our key customers in the USA and beyond, as we continue to revolutionize the fashion manufacturing industry,” Abhishek Sharma added.

Fashinza will use the capital to meet its growing international working capital requirements. "Our capital is non-asset based and will hence support Fashinza to grow their business internationally in the most capital-efficient manner," said Navas Ebin.

“Fashinza is a promising pre-unicorn with global aspirations. Mars Growth Capital and Liquidity Group have been supporting companies like Fashinza to transition into becoming truly global businesses, and the prospects for a long-term partnership with the company are exciting," added Nir Shmueli, Investment Manager at Mars Growth Capital and Liquidity Group.

“Business-to-business marketplaces are here to stay and current systems are broken. We do not envision a world 20 years from now where brands would need to make 100 calls, send 200 emails, and wait six months for a bulk order,” says Pawan Gupta, CEO and co-founder. “We are solving real problems that are bringing in major results for our customers.”

The pandemic exposed significant structural issues in the global apparel industry, which relies on months of long lead times, considerable volumes to drive down costs, and massive inventory problems. In addition, supply chains are mainly managed on emails and spreadsheets, resulting in all-too-common industry problems, like delayed deliveries and long turnaround times.

Fashinza, which recently raised a $100 million in series-B funding led by Prosus Ventures (f.k.a. Naspers Ventures), is revolutionizing the apparel manufacturing industry through technology-led intervention, taking on industry problems head-on while fueling a culture of transparency, efficiency, sustainability and automation. Over $15 Million Supplier-Financing Program for SMEs From Fashinza

Over $15 Million Supplier-Financing Program for SMEs From Fashinza

Fashinza, a B2B, new-age product development and production management platform enabling fashion brands and manufacturers to produce better, together, has joined hands with Stride One, SaraLoan and other fintech lenders to empower apparel manufacturing SMEs with an over $15 million supplier-financing program. The lack of requisite working capital has been a significant challenge and a roadblock for SME suppliers and manufacturers in fulfilling large orders from big fashion labels. The supplier finance program from Fashinza and the fintech lenders will help SMEs to receive their payments on due dates or early payments. This will help SMEs scale their business without capital limitation.

The supplier-financing program, offered by Fashinza in partnership with Stride One, SaraLoan (Blacksoil’s fintech arm) and other fintech lenders, will help manufacturers to focus on production without financial stress, and enable brands to focus on their operations and sales without their cash getting stuck in production. Also the long-term benefits for SMEs are the ability to scale up capacity and to get new opportunities to grow their business faster.

According to Abhishek Sharma, Co-Founder and COO, Fashinza: “India’s contribution to apparel manufacturing and the global fashion industry is undisputed. While there is immense scope to grow for SMEs, availability of working capital remains a challenge. Our financing program for SMEs is an enabler and is empowering small manufacturers. We work closely with suppliers and have found that when the working capital is taken into account, they are able to work on bigger projects with bigger labels and scale their business."

"Fashinza is solving the cash flow problem of apparel manufacturers by offering supplier financing limits via fintech partners like Stride One and SaraLoan. Supplier financing is a win-win solution for both Fashinza and manufactures. Manufacturers get paid on time or request for early payment by paying a nominal interest on actuals. Supplier financing program will act as a catalyst to exponentially grow Fashinza’s supplier partners’ business,” says Akshay Poshatwar, AVP - Financial Services & Strategy, Fashinza.

“In our endeavor to provide customized financing solutions, we have designed robust and flexible financial programs for Fashinza that meet their working capital needs. Through this partnership, Stride One continues its focus on creating disruptive supply chain financing solutions for new-age businesses, along with digitizing the onboarding process of vendors,” says Sameer Mahajan, CBO, Stride One.

“We are excited to work with Fashinza as they are helping highly unstructured apparel manufactures by providing them a tech backbone to help them get more business. By working with Fashinza, SaraLoan has been able to provide working capital to these manufacturers to help fulfill orders generated on the Fashinza platform. The solution offered by SaraLoan is flexible and manufacturers can draw as per demand and pay interest only on the amount utilized,” says Ashutosh Kumar, Chief Business Officer, SaraLoan.

Fashinza is an AI-driven B2B marketplace for global fashion supply chains. They make it exceptionally easy for international brands to access design to delivery in as fast as 4 weeks with very low minimums. Rajesh Meenan

Just weeks after announcing $20 million funding, Fashinza announces team expansion with deeply experienced leaders

National, August 16, 2021: Fashinza, a global B2B manufacturing startup, today announced hiring of a senior leader to drive its global and Indian expansion. Their new executive leader Rajesh Meena, Head of Operations will play a critical role, as the company continues to see accelerated demand for its offerings. After a recent round of funding from Accel Partners, Elevation Capital, Anand Ahuja and actress Sonam Kapoor Ahuja, Fashinza is quickly expanding its team to meet the tremendous demand. The growth of the Fashinza team is part of a broader plan to help its clients not only in India but globally. The goal is to strengthen its position as a fashion and a sustainable brand, delivering solutions for small and medium ethical factories, garment manufacturers and fashion brands/designers who are looking to attain success in the fashion and textile industry.

The addition of Mr. Rajesh marks the initiation of this expansion process for the company’s leadership team. Rajesh is an astute professional with 15 years of accomplished career in BlackBuck, Ola, TaxiForSure, and Spencer's Retail.

Rajesh earned his B. Tech from IIT Bombay in 2004 and PGDM from IIM Bangalore in 2008. During his TaxiForSure stint, their Delhi Branch achieved 4x record growth from 5600 to 22000 rides per day within two months.

At Fashinza, Rajesh will oversee sales, mobility, operations and supply chain. At the supply end, he’ll be chiefly responsible for onboarding factories (to expand supply base), ensuring audit compliance, identifying the “model factories,” and achieving accurate supplier-brand matching basis the strengths and requirements of the respective suppliers and brands. At the operational level, Rajesh will be responsible for ensuring 100% visibility in terms of TNA (Time-And-Action Plan), minimizing rejections of delivered goods, and ensuring on-time delivery. A major lacuna in the fashion industry is the missing trust factor between brands and suppliers and Fashinza’s goal is to fill this gap. Rajesh will be playing a pivotal role in achieving this target.

Speaking of Fashinza’s goals, the tech-driven start-up is on a mission to create a sustainable and futuristic supply chain for fashion brands while improving the lives of workers. In May 2021, the company expanded their operations to New York with the aim of reinventing the $800 bn global fashion manufacturing for the e-commerce era, which is more agile, fast, transparent, and sustainable. Their platform provides an end-to-end online ordering for brands, complete production tracking from the factory floor, low MOQs, and fast but ethical production. The platform’s USP is their dashboard where brands can monitor the TNA plans for their orders with regular updates, can access factory footage in real time, and communicate with Fashinza for support 24/7. Fashinza is currently present in 10 countries and has partnered with brands from the US, Canada, UK, Middle East, and India. At present, they're associated with 150+ leading brands including Forever 21, Hummel, Centrix Brands, and Amaro.

Commenting on the new hire, Abhishek Sharma, Co-Founder, Fashinza, said, “Fashinza is on a transformational journey to make a transparent and agile supply chain accessible to a wider client-base, and Rajesh will help lead the way with his technology and fashion expertise. We are excited to welcome him to the team and will leverage his expertise to propel Fashinza through its next phase of growth of global expansion. Fashinza is expanding their supply chains across countries like China, Middle-East, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, and India, therefore we have boarded Rajesh with us who will help us in business expansion. He will play a key role in this expansion while continuing to grow in the domestic market."

Jamil Ahmad, CBO and Co-Founder, Fashinza, added, “We are working towards building and strengthening our leading team which will add value to our clients and will ensure successful business. The company is looking for experienced professionals in sales, business-strategy and operations verticals for seamless service delivery to our clients, while by no means compensating on our ethics. We have associated with multiple brands that have used our model and to further expand, we are strengthening our team and Rajesh will help us in business development."

In his comments, Rajesh Meena, Head of Operations, Fashinza, said -
I’m excited to join this team and begin the journey of taking the Fashinza brand to new levels. A platform that creates a more holistic — and sustainable — supply chain

Abhishek Sharma and Pawan Gupta - Co-Founders of Fashinza

National, January 28th, 2021: The year 2020 has had devastating effects on the fashion industry and has been even harsher on manufacturers and suppliers around the world. The disruption was quite sudden and now that it is time to rewire the industry, a Gurugram-based startup Fashinza has formally unveiled India’s one of its kind B2B platform that helps apparel and fashion brands outsource their manufacturing with complete transparency and reliability. An end-to-end cloud-based production platform, it helps apparel and fashion brands outsource their manufacturing efficiently. Fashinza already has 400 plus ethical partner factories across India, Bangladesh, Vietnam, and Sri Lanka and counts brands like Forever21, Noon.com, FirstCry, The Souled Store, and Bewakoof.com among their customers.

In his comments on the new platform, Pawan Gupta, Co-Founder & CEO, Fashinza, said, “Our cloud-based software is transforming the fashion industry by digitizing global supply chains and making sustainable sourcing easy and cost-effective for brands and every player in the supply chain. Our platform enables brands to manage the entire product development, sourcing, and production process from design right through delivery, all in one place. Fashinza helps brands reduce inventory forecasting errors and produce goods with complete transparency and minimal effort. We currently have manufacturing units in India, Bangladesh, and Srilanka and have worked with brands across India, USA, UK, Europe, and Australia."

Abhishek Sharma, Co-Founder and COO, Fashinza said, “At Fashinza, we are creating a new generation supply chain and product development platform for the Fashion Industry. Through Fashinza, we are also addressing the problems of small and medium sized manufacturers. MSMEs industrial units don’t have experience in using state-of-the-art technology that radically improves operations by introducing transparency and efficiency in the production process. By partnering up with us they not only get to work with both national and international brands but also get an opportunity to upscale their business and operations through the integration of latest technologies."

Fashinza Raises $2.6 Mn in Seed Funding Led by Accel Partners and Elevation Capital

Fashinza, a B2B manufacturing marketplace that solves apparel/fashion supply chain challenges by connecting fashion brands to experienced manufacturers, has announced that they have secured a seed funding of $2.6 million. The funds are to be utilized in solving apparel supply challenges by digitising the entire sourcing cycle from design to delivery.

The start-up provides absolute transparency during the production process through regular updates/notifications for brands on their AI-based platform. The initial seed funding round was led by Accel Partners and Elevation Capital with participation of marquee individual investors – Kunal Bahl and Rohit Bansal, co-founders of Snapdeal, and Alok Mittal, co-founder of Indifi. The global apparel industry was set to reach a value of $1.5 trillion US dollars in 2020 with the global demand on the rise but the growth was interrupted by the Covid-19 pandemic. The European Union, United States, and China are the 3 largest markets for the apparel industry while the APAC region has the highest growth rate. Countries like China, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, and India have emerged as the leading suppliers in the industry.

Commenting on the funding they’ve received, Pawan Gupta, CEO & Co-Founder, Fashinza, said, “The global apparel supply chain needs technology driven intervention for it to become efficient and fair. It needs to be more agile and it should be able to respond to changes much more quickly than it does at present. For instance, during the pandemic, when the retail orders dived south, we were able to provide a scalable demand-supply matching platform for all PPEs and enabled the production of complete PPE kits by onboarding a greater number of suppliers in the moment of need. The funding that we have received is an acknowledgment of our potential to transform the apparel supply chain and it will be invested to facilitate our growth in different directions. We are expanding our network of manufacturers globally and are working with leading brands across 10 countries. Our mission here is to combine innovation with sustainability.

In his comments, Pratik Agarwal, Vice President, Accel Partners, said, “We’re proud to be partners with Fashinza as they represent the ambition of next-gen Indian founders going after large global opportunities. The time is right for Fashinza as they reinvent the $500bn global fashion supply chain for the e-commerce era. Pawan and Abhishek are exceptional operators who put team and customer success first and have instilled the right cultural DNA in Fashinza very early on."

According to Akarsh Shrivastava, Vice President, Elevation Capital, “Apparel industry has undergone multiple shifts over the past decade. Rise of direct to consumer brands and advent of fast fashion have pushed brands and retailers to be faster and more agile. Fashinza, with its product and tech-led approach, is democratizing this fast fashion supply chain, enabling both brands and suppliers with the wherewithal to navigate these shifts. We are excited to partner with Pawan and Abhishek in building a global company.”
