FarEye Launches AI-based Real-Time Dynamic Routing for On-Time Hyperlocal Deliveries for Shippers

Digital logistics platform, FarEye, has announced the launch of its AI-based real-time dynamic routing feature to empower on-time and cost-effective deliveries which will majorly impact the hyperlocal and grocery delivery industry that demands quick turn-around-time. FarEye helps shippers to reduce costs, improve service and drive innovation.

The technology empowers businesses to minimize empty mile journeys, eliminate vehicle idling time and optimize the productivity of delivery executives by assigning them highly efficient routes.

Inefficient route mapping, inability to deliver on time, poor productivity, increasing delivery costs, empty mile journeys, vehicle idling, and poor visibility has been weighing down the supply chain and logistics operations for a long time. FarEye’s real-time dynamic routing capabilities help enterprises by automatically dispatching on-demand orders. The orders are assigned based on capacity, driver proximity and service time constraints. It also ensures that ad-hoc delivery requirements and cancellations are met while keeping costs, SLAs and ETAs intact.

A key area where FarEye’s real-time dynamic routing makes a difference is fleet utilization. FarEye’s engine addresses the most exhaustive constraints that disrupt transportation operations. Some of these include driver-route mapping, pickup windows, delivery windows, no-entry time windows, tonnage, empty miles cost, running and waiting costs, etc. FarEye helped the world's largest pizza delivery chain to reduce delivery time by 27% and enabled the biggest logistics company to increase courier productivity by 15%.

“The food delivery market is on an exponential rise, with more than 2 million transactions made in a day in India alone. Globally, the online food delivery market is expected to reach US$ 112 Billion by 2023. In such a high growing landscape, businesses need real-time insights on routes, fleet productivity and ability to make changes on the go. Dynamic routing capabilities enable businesses to get more competitive by empowering them to deliver delightful customer experiences and boost profitability,” Kushal Nahata, CEO & Co-founder, FarEye.

FarEye is one of India’s fastest growing start-ups with a 280% increase in ARR year on year. Clocking triple-digit revenue growth since the past 3 years, FarEye is now targeting a 325% growth in revenue this fiscal. FarEye facilitates over 65 million transactions per day, enabling more than 150 enterprises across 20+ countries.

SaaS-based Logistic Firm FarEye Acquires Dipper, An IoT-Driven Trucking Startup

Delhi-headquartered SaaS-based logistics firm FarEye has announced the acquisition of Delhi-based startup Dipper Technologies, an Internet of Things (IoT) platform that offers online marketplace to connect trucks (load seekers) with load (load owners).

The financials of acquisition deal were remain undisclosed however.

Founded in 2015 by Ayush Syal (IIT-Guwahati) and Suryansh Jalan (NIT-T), Dipper is an IoT-enabled online platform for freight logistics that has created a digital ecosystem connecting all relevant stakeholders on one platform platform providing visibility and predictability in freight movement. The startup had raised single round of funding from angel investor(s) in June 2016, according to data by Crunchbase.

According to Dipper's Linkein company page, it currently digitalises movement of over 1.25 Lakh tons/month of material, processes over 6 million location pings daily, has 5+ TMS integrations and 10+ 3rd party hardware integrations including partnerships with several OEMs like TATA Motors, Mahindra, etc

Post acquisition of Dipper, its co-founder Suryansh Jalan is now President of Transportation at FarEye.

FarEye, which was also founded in 2015, is a last mile SaaS-based delivery platform, servicing over 100 customers across five continents. The company has got backing from eminent investors including DHL, Indian Angel Networks and SAIF Partners, among others.

"We are now headed towards digitalising India's transportation industry and improve it to ensure on-time deliveries with reduced cost of goods movement," said Kushal Nahata, Co-founder and CEO of FarEye.

The acquisition of Dipper Technologies is in line with FarEye's growth plans to solve challenges for long-haul and multi-modal logistics.

"Shippers are losing a lot of time, money and inventory due to unpredicted freight movement. India spends about $160 billion on road logistics, twice compared to countries with an efficient transportation infrastructure," Nahata said.

"The Dipper team understood the problem really well and this understanding coupled with a very passionate team and a strong product supplemented FarEye's existing strength in supply chain industry technology," he added.

One of the biggest problems in road transportation is lack of data because of fragmented industry with multiple stakeholders. Dipper provides a solution by using a mix of IoT devices, SIM cards, smartphones and its wide network of IoT/ERP (enterprise resource planning) providers.

The location data (received from IoT ecosystem) is fed into FarEye's Machine Learning platform that then predicts estimated time of arrival in long-haul movements by learning the delays at tolls and terrains.

"We are now a strong team of 200, consulting more than 100 customers -- targeting the trillion dollar logistics and supply chain industry, globally," Nahata said.

Mr. Gautam Kumar, Co-Founder, FarEye further adds "We don’t believe ‘one solution fits all’ mantra – we believe that each client has unique requirements and should be provided with a tailor – made solution to address critical operational challenges. In today’s digital age where brand loyalty is redundant, we ensure that our customers deliver on-time commitment and provide exemplary services to their end customer.”

According to the Mr. Gaurav Srivastava, CTO & Co-Founder “It is a known fact that logistics is both- the key to success and cause for failure. We understood that logistics segment required streamlining and restructuring to cater to the ever-growing e-commerce segment in India. Having foresight at that time, we decided to focus on logistics management with technology rather than logistics infrastructure. Business growth in the logistics sector would directly relate to improved service delivery and customer satisfaction across businesses.”

FarEye is headquartered in New Delhi and is trusted by over 75 clients ranging from the exclusive e-commerce solution providers like Ecom express, Gojavas, Holisol etc to the traditional behemoths like DTDC, Blue Dart, Safe Express, Bajaj Capital, Hitachi etc.  Globally FarEye has been able to leave its mark by optimizing and automating logistics operations for companies like Zalora, ACommerce, Sephora, MarkaVIP etc in South East Asia and Middle East.
