Elecbits, India’s first Full-Stack Electronics Design and Manufacturing startup has raised $5.5M in a Series A round of funding led by Nexus Venture Partners, with participation from SE Ventures and Riverwalk Holdings.

This round will further accelerate Elecbits’ mission of building the digital and physical infrastructure required to make India a global electronics powerhouse. India’s semiconductor ambitions entered a transformative phase this week with the unveiling of the second edition of the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM 2.0), announced at the Semicon India 2025 summit.
Building on the ₹76,000 crore foundation laid by ISM 1.0, the new roadmap pivots from infrastructure creation to full-stack innovation, ecosystem integration, and indigenous product development.

From Fabs to Full Products: What ISM 2.0 Promises

Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw declared ISM 2.0 a “moment of pride,” presenting the first set of Made-in-India commercial-grade chips to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The chips, developed by CG Semi and student teams using Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools, symbolize India’s transition from consumer to creator in the global chip race.

Key highlights of ISM 2.0 include:
  • Expanded Incentives: Support now extends beyond fabs and OSATs to include capital equipment, materials, and ancillary industries such as gas and chemical suppliers.

Aimtron Electronics Posts 222% Surge in Open Orders Fueled by AI, IoT, and Green Energy Demand

Aimtron Electronics Ltd, one of the leading Electronics System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) solutions companies, saw a significant surge of 222% YoY in open order book to INR 419.50 crore. The company’s Total Revenue also witnessed a huge jump of 85% to approximately INR 43.30 crore in Q1FY 25-26 as compared to INR 23.26 crore in Q1FY24-25.

Of the total new orders that Aimtron received, 80% came from domestic and 20% from exports. These orders are broken down by type as 63% Box-Build, 35% PCBA, and 2% Design. The growth was driven by robust demand across the Network Security, Green energy, Industrial, IoT, and AI sectors with key ODM and box build projects being the primary drivers of this performance.

Among other strategic and operational milestones, Aimtron successfully completed Stage I of the AS9100 audit, with Stage II scheduled for August 2025. This certification is crucial for securing high-value aerospace and defence contracts. A new SMT line will integrate advanced AI-powered inspection capabilities to enhance efficiency.

Aimtron also launched a greenfield expansion adjacent to the Vadodara plant for long-term growth. This strategic location leverages local logistics, talent, and Gujarat's favourable industrial policies and the new capacity will aid incremental capacity for future growth. Certified facilities in Vadodara and Bengaluru boast five SMT lines and five box build lines with operations being governed by top-tier certifications, including ISO 13485, ISO 14001, ISO 9001, and IATF 16949.

Recent successful fund raise of preferential shares through warrants (awaiting shareholder approval at ensuing extra ordinary general meeting and in principle approval from NSE)
  • The company recently received tremendous response to its preferential fund raise through the warrants route. The fund raise was to the tune of approximately Rs 98.50 crore raising approximately 14,47,188 warrants at Rs 680.64 per share and will be used for growth capital.
  • Nearly 69 investors participated in this fund raise of which the promoters and its employees participated to the extent of approximately 18.5% of the fund raise, over and above external investors.

L&T Semiconductor Technologies (LTSCT) recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC).

This strategic collaboration aims to drive indigenization efforts and accelerate innovation in areas of mutual interest. To Boost Domestic IT Hardware, EDSM Manufacturing Govt Approves $1 Bn Worth of Incentive Scheme

The Union Cabinet chaired by the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi has approved the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for IT Hardware. The scheme proposes production linked incentive to boost domestic manufacturing and attract large investments in the value chain of IT Hardware. 

The Target Segments under the proposed Scheme include Laptops, Tablets, All-in-One PCs and Servers.

The Scheme shall, extend an incentive of 4% to 2% / 1% on net incremental sales (over base year i.e. 2019-20) of goods manufactured in India and covered under the target segment, to eligible companies, for a period of four (4) years.

The scheme is likely to benefit5 major global players and 10 domestic champions in the field of IT Hardware manufacturing including Laptops, Tablets, All-in-One PCs, and Servers. This is an important segment to promote manufacturing under AtmaNirbhar Bharat as there is huge import reliance for these items at present.

The total cost of the proposed scheme is approximately Rs.7,350 crore or USD 1.01 billion (approx.) over 4 years, which includes an incentive outlay of Rs.7,325 crore and administrative charges of Rs.25 crore.

Benefits:

The scheme will enhance the development of electronics ecosystem in the country. India will be well positioned as a global hub for Electronics System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) on account of integration with global value chains, thereby becoming a destination for IT Hardware exports.

The scheme has an employment generation potential of over 1,80,000 (direct and indirect) over 4 years.

The Scheme will provide impetus to Domestic Value Addition for IT Hardware which is expected to rise to 20% - 25% by 2025.


The vision of National Policy on Electronics 2019 notified on 25.02.2019 is to position India as a global hub for Electronics System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) by encouraging and driving capabilities in the country for developing core components, including chipsets, and creating an enabling environment for the industry to compete globally.

Currently, the laptop and tablet demand in India is largely met through imports valued at USD 4.21 billion and USD 0.41 billion respectively in 2019-20. The market for IT Hardware is dominated by 6-7 companies globally which account for about 70% of the world's market share. These companies are able to exploit large economies of scale to compete in global markets. It is imperative that these companies expand their operations in India and make it a major destination for manufacturing of IT Hardware.

Given the current global scenario, the world of manufacturing is undergoing a paradigm shift. Manufacturing companies across the globe are looking to diversify their manufacturing locations to mitigate the risk involved in depending on a single market.

8 ESDM Startups Shortlisted by MeitY’s Electropreneur Park

Electropreneur Park begins season six with eight budding electronic hardware start-ups for its pre-incubation, incubation and visual acceleration programs. To promote ingenious manufacturing in Electronics System Development and Maintenance (ESDM) in the electronic eco-system of India, Electropreneur Park will run this program for one and a half year. The startups shortlisted this year includes:


  1. AIGROEDGE: Developing AI-powered intelligent farming kit with Intelligent Analytics Platform and Expert System

  2. Arista Vault: Developing next-gen high tech intelligent secured products to make people’s life safe, easy and peaceful.

  3. Pill Pal: IOT based pills storing and dispensing products for patients and hospitals.

  4. Designers Charrette: Portable device to store insulin in low temperature with IOT based dosage management and analytics.

  5. Electric Fuel: Creating battery swapping stations with EV charging and advanced battery management.

  6. Eath.in: Creating a pocket sized AI device to analyse milk health.

  7. Motor Invertor: Developing a low cost invertor for inductive load.

  8. E2EM: Developing portable E-Moped



The incubated startups will be offered strategic mentoring by industry stalwarts from pool of 30 leaders from companies like Murata, NXP, Global Foundaries, Cadence and highly successful entrepreneurs. Access to design support from various supporting organizations like Infineon, STMicroelecronics, Texas Instruments, Microchip, Intel, NXP, etc. Electropreneur Park is providing a robust technology focused sustainable infrastructure, allowing for advanced R&D, innovation and designing. The start-ups will receive funding assistance through government support, industry connect and through member base of IESA, STPI and University of Delhi.

Electropreneur Park made an investment over INR 2 crore in setting up the incubation lab for helping the start-ups. While entrepreneurs and start-up enthusiasts in India burst with new ideas, most of them face a major setback in setting a proper infrastructure and office space.

They will be part of various national and international industry events which will help them network with industry leaders and potential customers to help build a strong network and wider visibility”.

Electropreneur Park has been successfully contributing to the ESDM growth story of India and has led to the inception of 33 start-ups, 20 new products, around 20 patents in the last three years of operation. With over 70% of graduated startups in revenue phase the success stories so far led to a total revenue generation by startups of over INR 25 crore and a valuation of INR 120 Crores;
