Indian startups are swiftly coming in so as to share the pie of wearable tech world. Bangalore's Koramangala startup 2mpower Health Management Services Pvt. Ltd. has built a wearable wrist-band called 'GetActive Tapp' which syncs with your smartphone to deliver fitness stats on daily physical activities and the cost of this stylish band is just Rs.4999.

GetActive tapp is a wearable band from the house of Wearable technology provider GetActive which helps you keep a track of your physical health such as the distance covered, number of steps taken and amount of calories burnt. The band was recently launched and will be available on popular e-commerce site Myntra. Mohandas Pai, former Infosys board member and Chairman of Manipal Global education is an esteemed investor in the Bangalore based GetActive. However, the amount of Pai's investment in the company is not known.

The GetActive tapp easily syncs with your Smartphone and delivers your fitness stats through it. Besides this, in order to gain currency among its users, the company will also provide the users with points for every step they take. These points can be redeemed by them in GetActive's partner ecosystem for which the GetActive has tied-up with retail market brands.

GetActive, the company, was born after three years of strenuous hardwork and research from well experienced and knowledgeable people in the field of disease management, wellness, behavior psychology, information technology and motion sensor applications.  The company believes in everything fun, simple and scientific. It has core team of four members which include Mohammed Hussain Naseem , Murtaza, Sreejith and Sourav Sipani. GetActive is owned by a firm called 2mpower Health Management Services.

According to Mohammed Hussain Naseem's statement, "Our goal is to create an active India, where individuals walk towards their well being. Today, 10 million steps are clocked everyday on GetActive platform. Our aim is to increase this count to 100 billion steps in the next 30 months".  Nassem is the Founder and CEO of 2mpower Health Management Services.

In 2013-2014 the total turn-over of the company was Rs.1.5 crore and the health-tech startup has targeted Rs.2.5 crore in 2014-15 fiscal year.

The wearable technology market is booming like never before in India, it is expected to grow from a decent Rs.50 crores in 2014 to mammoth of Rs. 2,500 crores in the next four years. On the other hand, the Wearable Technology is expected to get past the $8 million mark in the United States by 2018. According to Mohandas's statement to Financial Express,"“Wearable technology has seen good traction in the US markets and rates high in the mind of Indian customers. I see an immense opportunity in this sector".
