  • Industry Alignment: Unlike conventional MBAs, this program emphasizes hands-on technical training, preparing graduates for AI-first product roles.
  • Accenture’s Backing: With Accenture’s global reach, graduates may benefit from strong industry connections and recruitment pipelines.

Udacity Launches Introduction to Cybersecurity Nanodegree Program

The program builds the right foundation for cybersecurity professionals and offers job-ready training within the domain

Aimed at addressing the rising need for cybersecurity professionals, the lifelong learning platform, Udacity, has launched the all-new Introduction to Cybersecurity Nanodegree program — offered in collaboration with SecurityScorecard — a great start for anyone interested in this critical field. With this, Udacity not only acknowledges the need for safeguarding data integrity but also envisions preparing the workforce to tackle the cybersecurity paradigm.

Leading global organizations, irrespective of their scale, industry,  geography, or technical sophistication, have seen data breaches in recent years. The work-from-home culture in the new normal has only worsened the scenario for organizations who are now grappling with end-point security issues. Even the World Health Organization has reported a surge in malicious web activities during the ongoing crisis, thereby highlighting the dire requirement for robust cybersecurity.

The introductory training program equips the participants with the right foundational knowledge to pursue additional development in the same field. It is also well-suited for IT professionals, engineering managers or even students with little knowledge of the domain looking to supplement their existing skill set.

The project-based Nanodegree program offers four courses: “Cybersecurity Foundations”; “Defending and Securing Systems”; “Threats, Vulnerabilities, and Incident Response”; and “Governance, Risk, and Compliance.” The project-learning-led course structure designed by industry experts will allow learners to not only learn the fundamentals of cybersecurity but also get to implement and test them in a real-world context. It allows for an enhanced learning experience than the other subpar or more expensive academic or theoretical programs that do not dwell upon advanced training.

“Our goal at Udacity is to train the world’s workforce in the in-demand careers of the future, and cybersecurity is a critical industry that’s experiencing a significant gap between demand for and supply of qualified professionals,” said Alper Tekin, Chief Product Officer at Udacity. “We’re excited and proud to partner with SecurityScorecard to bring practical cybersecurity skills training to students and companies across all industries, to answer the massive demand for cybersecurity professionals.”

“We are thrilled to partner with Udacity to bring easily accessible cybersecurity education to the public,” said Aleksandr Yampolskiy, CEO and co-founder of SecurityScorecard, the global leader in security ratings. “Our company mission is to make the world a safer place. By partnering with Udacity we are making additional progress on this journey and helping to facilitate the development of future and current cybersecurity professionals. The world needs skilled security practitioners and we’re happy to join Udacity in this endeavor.”

Both the companies are uniquely positioned to provide students with the Machine Learning skills they need to be successful in the careers of the future.

Udacity and Upwork partner to develop free course on Managing Remote Teams

As part of their continuing efforts to support enterprise customers and their workers during the current crisis, Udacity has created and released a free course in collaboration with Upwork, the leading online talent solution, to promote best practices for remote team management as many companies find themselves working with distributed teams for the first time. While many tasks can be completed from home, the best practices for doing so - and for managing this newly distributed workforce - are still something of an enigma to many team leads. At Udacity, we wanted to provide a solution to help our customers better understand how to operate in an online workspace. Upwork proved to be the perfect partner to help us close that knowledge gap.”

“The rapid pivot to adopting fully remote teams can be jarring for organizations. We are working to provide solutions that can help our customers, as well as the general public, successfully adapt to working with a distributed workforce in light of COVID-19," said Hayden Brown, President and CEO, Upwork. “For over 20 years, we’ve helped businesses of all sizes increase effectiveness by working with independent professionals located around the world.
