Cab Aggregator Platform TaxiVaxi Raises $500K In Seed Funding

Delhi-based cab aggregating platform TaxiVaxi has raised $500K in second round of Seed funding from HNIs. With the newly raised capital, the startup will be adding more services, enhance its technology and capabilities and develop the team further. It had earlier raised angel funding in November last year.

Founded in December 2014 by Neeraj Tayal, Ankit Gupta and Vinod Kumar, TaxiVaxi allows booking of radio taxi, tour taxi, self drive cars and carpooling from multiple operators and vendors on one platform. The startups has developed a solution where users can check availability, compare fares, check ETA, book, and plan their rides.

Apart from its consumer-facing segment, TaxiVaxi also caters to the corporate segment, offering them a separate web-based solution bundled with its app.



Speaking on the second round of funding, NeerajTayal, Co-founder and CEO, TaxiVaxi.com, said, ‘We are very pleased to have secured a second round of funding in such as short span of time. We have grown exponentially since our launch and are one of the few start-ups in India to show a profitable status in this short span of time. The second round will be a structured transaction and we will be using the funds to expand into more cities, strengthening our technology base and increasing workforce. We are expanding our presence in corporate travel segment with cashless/ paperless travel for employees for multiple travel options and we are receiving really good response so far.’

Presently, the startup operates in 300 cities across the country including Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Gurgaon, Jaipur, and Lucknow among others. It has a current user base of 15000+ and 20 corporate clients with aggressive plans to grow upto 500 cities and achieve a target user base of 1000,000, by the end of 2016. TaxiVaxi also claims to have between 125-150 cab companies including Ola and Uber on its platform and has partnered with about 15 radio taxi operators and has about 20 corporate clients, which include luxury retail brand Good Earth and global human resource firm, AON Hewitt among others.

The startup recently launched an iOS app to expand its customer base including a new feature TaxiVaxi Wallet.

It competes with other cab aggregators like Scoot, EK and TaxiPixi among others.

TaxiVaxi was founded by three engineers with a vision to conquer the roads. Coming from different backgrounds, the three of them as a group have a combined set of skills that make a great team.

Neeraj Tayal is the CEO of the company. He is an Engineer and an MBA and has cleared CFA level 2 as well. Before turning to the startup industry he has worked in corporate baking for about 8 years.

Ankit Gupta is the COO of the company. He also is an MBA along with being an engineer. He has worked in the sales and marketing field, for over 8 years before this.

Vinod Kumar is the CTO of the company. Like his co-founders, he is also an engineer with an experience of more than 10 years in the IT field.

Apart from the founder they have a team of 10+ members from IITs, IIMs and ISBs graduates.

Their immediate plan is to integrate 1 million cabs pan India in the next 1 year and improve the utilization of cabs by more than 50%. They have plans of launching a travel magazine by the name of TaxiVaxi Diaries, with the intention of promoting tourism in India and will talk about places less travelled in the country.
