According to a report from McKinsey Global Institute, IoT adoption, which is increasing exponentially across varied industry verticals including manufacturing, retail, logistics, energy, supply chain, healthcare, etc., has the potential to generate up to $11 trillion in economic value by 2025. However, the growth of IoT needs to be seen in the context of its potential when used in combination with other technologies like AI/ML and Big Data. The existing installed base of five billion plus smartphones, two billion plus personal computers, and one billion plus tablets, when connected, indicate a massive market for IoT transformation. While IoT projects are top priority for organizations, nearly 75% take twice as long to complete because of talent shortage. The industry has a critical need for professionals with expertise in technologies and processes around IoT to fulfill its ambitions of interconnectivity.

IISc and TalentSprint Announce PG Level Deep Learning Specialization Program

TalentSprint Expands its Women Engineers Program with Enhanced Support from Google

• First cohort of 100 received a resounding response from global tech companies.

TalentSprint has announced the expansion of its Women Engineers (WE) Program, with enhanced support from Google. Building on the strong industry acceptance of the first cohort, the second cohort will select, train, and enable 120 talented women engineering students to become world-class software engineers. The program is open to first year women engineering students across India.

While women were pioneers in the early decades of programming, the participation of women in the global technology sector today stands at 26% (per the US Bureau of Labor Statistics). The WE program, offered by TalentSprint with support from Google, addresses this gender imbalance by grooming talented young women engineering students to advance and contribute to the field. Prioritising inclusion, the program places special focus on mentoring gifted women engineers from underprivileged and disadvantaged backgrounds.

The first cohort of 100 WE students, shortlisted and selected from a pool of 7200+ applicants, began their intensive training and mentoring sessions in June 2019, and have received a very encouraging response from the tech industry. Well before the completion of the program, WE students received 104 internships and full time offers from 54 companies, at compensation levels 86% above the market average as per Glassdoor. Google-Supported Program for Women Engineers Reveals Interesting Insights of Female Engineering Students

TalentSprint has released an insights report titled “Aspiration for a Global Tech Career among Young Women Engineers”. The data and analysis is based on the company’s Women Engineers (WE) program, which recently received 7276 applications from female engineering students attending 664 colleges and 83 universities, across 29 Indian States and Union Territories. An elaborate multistage selection process was then used to filter this large pool of applicants and invite 100 top applicants to the first cohort of the WE program.



Applications for the WE program were received from North, South, East, and West India. It received an equal response from urban (cities) and non-urban (towns and villages) areas. It is observed that the aspiration for a global tech career among young women has no correlation with the educational backgrounds of their parents. It is noteworthy that a vast majority of applicants come from modest family income backgrounds. Most applications were received from Telangana, AP, West Bengal, Delhi, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh.

The Hybrid Format has attracted Working Professionals with a Wide Range of Experience

IIIT-Hyderabad and TalentSprint have completed the first anniversary of their AI/ML Executive Program. With 10,000+ applicants and 1000+ graduates in 2018 alone, the program has made its mark as one of the most aspirational and impactful deep tech executive programs in the country in the field of artificial intelligence and machine learning.

The program’s hybrid structure designed by the IIIT-H Machine Learning Lab, with its judicious blend of research and practice-based modules, created a strong appeal among working professionals. The intense nature of the program with lectures by globally renowned AI and ML faculty, case studies by industry practitioners, hands-on lab exercises, high-energy hackathons and ongoing mentorship offered a unique environment and design where learning-by-doing became the norm.

Program participants had work experience in the range of 3-25 years, with an average of 7 years.
