EDT, the new-generation consumer appliances brand reimagining everyday devices for modern homes, today announced the launch of , “Recipe Ramsay” in partnership with SagePilot AI. This is a first-of-its-kind AI-powered Kitchen OS built specifically for LUMA, its intelligent PureGlass Air Fryer with NutriRetainTM Edge. With this launch, EDT becomes one of the first companies to tightly integrate a conversational AI recipe agent directly with an intelligent kitchen appliance, bridging thoughtful hardware with practical, everyday AI.

Built on WhatsApp, Recipe Ramsay addresses a core behavioural insight: the friction in cooking isn’t execution, it’s decision-making. In over 500 consumer interviews across demographics and cities, EDT found that nearly 95% of respondents struggled not just with cooking itself, but with also deciding what to cook each day. Variables such as available ingredients, time, dietary preferences, calorie or protein goals, spice levels, and serving size collectively create daily decision fatigue.

Commenting on the launch, Naiyya Saggi, Co-Founder & CEO, EDT, said, “The next frontier of AI is Physical AI, intelligence embedded directly into the products people use every day. At EDT, the long term vision is to build stable, integrated systems where hardware and AI are conceived together to improve daily use outcomes. Recipe Ramsay is an early expression of that vision. It’s not a generic AI layered onto an appliance, but a tightly integrated intelligence layer that enhances a user’s experience with LUMA’s core performance while reducing everyday cognitive load. By creating an AI-enabled assistive ecosystem around LUMA’s hardware, and delivering it through a familiar interface like WhatsApp, we’re moving beyond novelty toward infrastructure, where technology works quietly and meaningfully inside the home.”

Recipe Ramsay streamlines this complexity into a single assistive, conversational flow. Users input what they have, how much time they have, and their dietary or health preferences or goals. The AI agent responds with a LUMA-optimised recipe, complete with calibrated temperature, time, and cooking mode settings. If ingredients are missing, it enables direct comparison across quick-commerce platforms, compressing the gap between intent and action. By choosing WhatsApp over a standalone app, EDT removes friction points such as downloads, onboarding, and platform switching.

Crucially, this is not a generic AI overlay. The result is an early expression of an hardware augmented by AI experience that reduces cognitive load, improves cooking outcomes, and expands the functional value of the appliance itself.

The launch of Recipe Ramsay reflects EDT’s broader philosophy of integrating meaningful, human-centric technology into everyday devices. The company, which recently announced its $1.4 million pre-seed fundraise led by Sauce VC along with participation from marquee founders and industry leaders, is building a portfolio of contemporary, intelligent home appliances designed around real human behaviour. With LUMA and now the LUMA Recipe Bot, EDT continues to advance its mission of making the everyday extraordinary.

After E-Mobility, India's Next Target is Cooking by Electricity - Power Minister

Power Minister R K Singh on Monday said India will eventually be an electricity-based economy, as the nation is embarking on power usage for running vehicles and cooking food.

"The entire power sector is going through change and this change will continue. We want to electrify our whole economy. The energy would be through electricity rather than through petroleum products or other forms of energy," Singh said at a function to mark 10 years of state-run Energy Efficiency Services Ltd (EESL) here.

The minister said, "Besides mobility, the next target would be cooking by electricity. So, we will electrify the economy and make electricity green (generation through renewable). Those are our long-term goals."

EESL, a joint venture of public sector undertakings under the power ministry, has completed 10 years of scaling up energy efficiency programmes in India and globally.

Established in 2009 to unlock the potential of energy efficiency, initiatives implemented by EESL have cumulatively led to energy savings of over 58 billion kWh (units) and a reduction of over 46 million tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions across the globe.

In its 10 years, EESL has had an exponential growth, with offices spread across India, the UK, Middle East, South Asia and Southeast Asia.

EESL's revenue has grown at a compound annual growth rate of 114.96 per cent from Rs 26 crore in 2013-14 to Rs 2,565 crore in 2018-19. With its rapid growth, EESL now aims to become a Rs 10,000-crore company in the next three years.

Lauding the business models provided by EESL to promote energy efficiency on the occasion, Singh said, "Business model, that is what works. You can have subsidy models. I have found through experience that the subsidy model does not work as well as a business model. That is what EESL brought in energy efficiency. The business model made it possible to replace agriculture (water) pumps with energy-efficient pumps."

The minister announced successful installation of 10 lakh smart meters across India, under the government's Smart Meter National Programme (SMNP). These smart meters, operational in Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana and Bihar, aim to bring efficiency in the distribution system leading to better service delivery.

He also announced commissioning of 100-megawatt (MW) cumulative capacity decentralised solar power plants connected to agriculture feeders.

The capacity of these solar power plants, in each substation, ranges from 0.5 MW to 10 MW. The decentralised solar plants cater to the requirements of farmers connected to the respective agriculture feeder daily, by means of reliable day-time electricity.

The minister also launched the dashboards of SMNP, National Electric Mobility Programme (NEMP) and solar initiatives to transparently monitor the real-time progress of the programmes and its impact.

He also launched an integrated mobile application, EK EESL, where all the dashboards of all the programmes being implemented by EESL will be accessible and anyone can monitor their real-time progress.

In the context of the NEMP, he highlighted that the electric vehicles deployed by EESL have completed 2 crore cumulative kilometers.

EESL and the Provincial Energy Authority, Ministry of Interior, Royal Thai Government, signed a pact during the event for long-term cooperation and collaboration to advance the implementation and deployment of energy efficiency measures at small and medium enterprises in Thailand.

Energy Efficiency Services Ltd spearheaded and implemented the zero-subsidy Unnat Jyoti by Affordable LEDs for All (UJALA) programme by distributing over 36.16 crore LED bulbs and Street Lighting National Programme (SLNP) by retrofitting over 1.06 crore street lights with LEDs.

Under the Buildings Energy Efficiency Programme, EESL has completed projects in 10,344 buildings, including railway stations and airports.

Implementing the Agriculture Demand-Side Management (AgDSM), EESL has installed over 73,800 pumps in Andhra Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh.

Under the NEMP, till date, 1,510 e-cars have been deployed or under registration. For charging e-cars, 300 AC and 170 DC captive chargers have also been commissioned and 68 public charging points are currently operational in Delhi-NCR.

A Lot Is Cooking At IoT Pot; Introduces Its First Innovation On Indiegogo, Klove Knob

One of NASSCOM Center of Excellence,  IoT’s first incubated startups IoT Pot, an arm of IoK Labs Inc. has unveiled their first innovation on Indiegogo – Klove Knob; a product that promises to make cooking smart and safe. Klove Knob can be made to replace any conventional existing stove knob and needs no additional hardware to jump into action. Priced at $29 (early bird price), $39 (single unit price), and $25 per unit when bought as a pack of six, Klove Knob will change the way people cook forever.

Commenting on the development, Sanjeev Malhotra, CEO, NASSCOM Center of Excellence-IoT said, “It’s a pleasure to see one of our first incubated start-ups get recognized and invested in for their efforts by some of the big names in the industry. We hope to see them reach greater heights in the future and will extend our full support in enabling the same”

Making An Existing Kitchen Smart

Klove Knob is the world’s first voice assisted stove knob that helps in making an existing kitchen smart. The Klove Knob is pre-programmed with the times of things that are cooked most often. IoK Labs says that their Klove Knob is highly intuitive as compared to a micro wave oven, where the pre-set menu times have to be searched. With a Klove Knob, one needs to simply speak out what they’d like to cook and Klove Knob will set the time.

Besides being an intelligent kitchen timer, Klove Knob has several features that one can use creatively. For instance, it can be used to personalize cooking times for favourite dishes. Also, the Klove app can be used to learn how to prepare something. This way, even the first-time cooking something turns into a delightful experience. Klove Knob’s inherent learning ability continuously calibrate preparation times based on the user’s real-time cooking behaviour, which could vary depending on variables such as utensil size or water hardness.

Food major Nestle has picked IoT Pot to integrate Klove technologies with their ready to cook product recipes. The company is also working with other partners such as recipe content providers, and kitchen appliance OEMs to deliver their customers a unified and complete cooking experience.

Bahubali Shete, the brain behind the product said, “Cooking is an art, not everyone enjoys cooking. It takes up a lot of time and attention. Hence, we at IoT Pot made a product that knows cooking times and is intuitive to a user’s cooking needs. There is no need to touch/tap / swipe the screen to set a timer”.

How Does It work?

The knob pairs up with a smartphone via an app and integrates with Amazon Alexa and Google Home. Simply speak to Alexa / Google Home / Klove App and ask, “What’s cooking”? Klove Knob will respond by setting the cooking time automatically (IoT Pot is constantly upgrading the software with cooking times of various foods) based on what is being cooked.

Klove Knob is designed with the consumer’s safety and convenience in mind. Its simple design allows it be retrofitted on conventional stoves with no technical assistance involved. With a smart geofencing feature, Klove Knob alerts a user if they step away from the kitchen leaving something on the burner.

“We don’t call this a smart knob because the knob does not control anything. We simply want to help people in their cooking and that’s all that matters to us. There are many issues in controlling the burner”, says Bahubali, and he adds, “hence, it really doesn’t help to turn off the burner as one always wants to confirm that the food is properly cooked before turning off the flame.

Secondly, being an Internet of Things (IoT) device, a device could always be vulnerable to hacks that could lead to serious damages. Klove Knob eliminates hacking threats to ensure a simple and safe cooking experience.”

In the coming months, IoT Pot plans to roll-out voice assisted recipe walk-throughs with more products like the Klove Knob to simplify cooking. According to Bahubali Shete, “A lot is cooking at IoT Pot. With Klove, cooking can become enjoyable. That’s our vision at IoT Pot”.
