JITO JIIF Launches JITO Incubation Centre (JIC) in New Delhi

Union Bank of India Signs an MoU With IIT (BHU) Varanasi for Setting Up a Joint Incubation Centre

An MoU was signed between IIT (BHU) Varanasi and Union Bank of India for setting up a joint incubation centre. IIT (BHU) Varanasi Dean-(R&D) Vikas Kumar Dubey and Union Bank Zonal Head, Varanasi, Girish Joshi signed the MoU in the presence of Director of IIT (BHU) Varanasi, Sri Pramod Kumar Jain.

The name of this incubation centre will be ‘IIT (BHU) Varanasi-Union Bank of India Incubation Centre’. The JIC is being set up with financial support from Union Bank of India and the operations will be managed by IIT (BHU) Varanasi.

For Union Bank of India, it is mandatory to serve the society and the customers of the Bank by financing technological advancements in both manufacturing and services in line with the spirit of Atmanirbhar Bharat. Through the Incubation Centre, Union Bank will provide all kinds of financial support to the youth for self-employment. The Director of IIT (BHU) Varanasi also welcomed the proposal to initiate technological advancement research program based on the feedback of the entrepreneurs who are customers of Union Bank of India.

With the objective of supporting early-stage startups in Maharashtra, the Government of Maharashtra is launching the Maharashtra Virtual Incubation Centre (MVIC) in partnership with 91Springboard Business Hub Pvt. Ltd., a leading co-working space provider offering facilities like office infrastructure, administrative support, mentoring, access to networks, and community. Through MVIC, incubation-related products and services like legal, financial, Intellectual Property, cloud and mentoring will be offered at preferential rates to startups in Maharashtra.

MVIC aims to foster innovation and entrepreneurship in Maharashtra by providing a supportive ecosystem for startups to grow and scale their businesses. Through this virtual platform, startups can access resources and services remotely, making it convenient and cost-effective. STPI to Open Incubation Centre in Coimbatore for IT Startups, Entrepreneurs

Chennai, Aug 20 (PTI): Aimed at benefiting then industry-academia partnership, the Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) set up by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology on Tuesday said it was establishing an incubation centre that would entail investments of Rs 40 crore, a top official said.

To set up the STPI-IT (information technology) incubation centre at the Government College of Technology, Coimbatore, the government has alloted 3-acres of land, STPI director-general Omkar Rai said here.

"The investments expected will be Rs 40 crore. This will cater to the needs of IT, IT-enabled services. It will also give a boost to entrepreneurship and exports from the region," he told reporters here.

For setting up the incubation centre, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed in the presence of secretary to department of higher education Mangat Ram Sharam and Omkar Rai. The centre would facilitate and support the entrepreneurs of the state to explore global opportunity in the IT and IT-enabled services.

To recall, in August last year STPI had launched Incubation centre and a Fab Lab 'STPI ELITE' for electronics and IT startups in Orissa state. The centre received investment of approximate Rs. 50 Crores.

"STPI will create a state-of-the-art incubation centre for providing raw and plug-in-play incubation facility to the industry especially for start-ups and entrepreneurs," he said.

The initiative would further strengthen the industry-academia relationship and also offer a platform for 'Future-Ready Technology', especially in Coimbatore.

With the facility, the employability skills can be achieved by transforming graduates into professionals by conducting special trainings in block chain, artificial intelligence, machine learning and internet of things, he said. PTI VIJ

Jain Community To Set Up Chain of Startup Incubation Centers All Across India, First One Launched In Mumbai

Starting a new business is a lot of work. Every entrepreneur going through the early stage startup phase can make use of some help and guidance from experts who have done this previously or have some knowledge of how the business world works. In order to provide this guidance to new entrepreneurs and encourage more youngsters to take the entrepreneurship route, the Jain community has decided to set up a number incubation centres across all major metros in the country. The first one among the many will be set up at Andheri, Mumbai.

Called the called ‘Cello JITO Incubation Centre,’ the not-for-profit facility will be providing thorough guidance and handholding to all its occupants. The building for the centre is being provided absolutely rent free by the Cello Group. The centre will be officially owned by JITO Incubation and Innovation Foundation (JIIF), which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Jain International Trade Organization (JITO).

For the uninitiated, JITO, is a multi-stakeholder community of visionary Jain’s who share the commitment to shape the future of the country, especially by working with the younger generation. Having almost 6,000 members, it claims to be single largest organisations of prominent businessmen, industrialists and professionals not only in the Indian subcontinent but also across the globe.

Located at Business Square at Solitaire Park, Chakala, Andheri East, the incubation centre will be spread over 8500 sq ft and have a capacity of 100+ seats. Once operational, the facility will offer its incubatees shared support services like HR, legal, IT and accounts etc. In addition to this, it will also help them in funding and ready market for implementation as per eligibility.

“This facility will help all the budding entrepreneurs in the city and will offer the best of services to the occupants. It is conveniently located and has all the modern facilities that start-ups require,” said Mr Pradeep G Rathod of Cello Group.

India's First Startup District To Have Its Own Incubation Centre Soon

In order to give youngsters in Mangaluru bubbling up with talent and entrepreneurship enthusiasm a platform to hone their skills, the Port city of India's first startup district will be opening the door to its first startup incubation centre at Mallikatta in the next four months.

The 6000 sqft incubation centre will have 60 seats in total and will be set up within the next four months with an initial funds of Rs 1.18 crore. Union minister for commerce and industry, Nirmala Sitharaman, stopped by the space marked for the centre in MCC Building near Mallikatta on Friday to take stock of the building process.

The incubation centre will provide startup/entrepreneurship enthusiasts with the necessary basic infrastructure that will help them in taking their dream off from the ground. They can come to the centre and easily get basic infrastructure things like internet connection and various other necessary plug and play facilities at a very nominal rate.

It has been observed that each startup has a different demand for a working space. While some require it for a few hours for a meeting or some serious brainstorming, others might require it for a a month or two for a crucial project. Hence, depending on the demand of the startups, there should be place where they can easily come sit, ideate and work in peace. The Mallikatta incubation centre will give young entrepreneurs such a space where they would have the freedom of choosing the amount of time they want to spend and pay for the time spent only.

According to Union Minister, the incubation centre can become an ideal place for entrepreneurs in Mangaluru to sit and talk business with partners and clients. She also shared that NASSCOM also has agreed to give one representative, who will be there to facilitate at the Mallikatta incubation centre.

Talking about the reason for setting up the Mallikatta incubation centre, the minister explained that they realised that the startups in Mangaluru who didn't have easy access to the kind of ecosystem required to nurture a startup would often go away to other Indian cities where the ecosystem was easily available. "We want to retain them here because lot of talent is here and lot of qualified people here. They shouldn't be going elsewhere and they should be given necessary facilities here," said Nirmala in a statement to TOI.

She also added that industries in Mangaluru should take advantage of this golden opportunity and partner with the centre once it is completed to look for solutions. Instead of going outside Mangaluru, the industries can now find their solutions in the city itself, thus saving themselves huge costs.

The Union Minister also assured that there are no dearth of funds for the initiative and that she has already released the first instalment from MPLAD funds for interior works, electrification and procurement of required equipment for the incubation centre.
