CII-Young Indians & RCC Diva Install "SUGADHARAM" Touch Free Handwash System

CII-Young Indians in association with RCC Diva and the Greater Chennai Corporation launched "SUGADHARAM", a Touch Free Hand Wash System. It was inaugurated at Tiruvanmiyur Market jointly by Actress Gowthami, and Mr. Vardharajan, Executive Engineer, Adyar Zone GCC.

From CII-Young Indians Aditya Roongta, Immediate Past Chair, Vishal Mehta, Chair, Krishna Nathani, Co-Chair, Chennai Chapter along with few other office bearers were present at the inauguration.

This Touch Free Hand Wash project has been initiated by this Young and Energetic Group to fight the COVID-19 crisis. The spread of the SAR-Cov2 virus or the coronavirus happens via droplet transmission and hand touch human contact. On an average people touch their faces more than 16 times an hour. This is major concern dealing with the fight against coronavirus. To prevent the spread through human contact one needs constantly wash their hands with soap. Soap has the capacity to kill the virus and frequent hand wash is one of effective solution to reduce the spread of the virus. This Touch free handwash helps people accessing public places to use these handwash where the user doesnt come in contact with tap or the soap dispenser yet enable them to use the handwash with help of mechanical pedal that can be operated via leg press. The project also bring awareness about the need for handwash. Regular handwash is a basic of hygiene and during these times, its a must to keep hands clean, hence the contactless handwash serves the purpose of hygiene and habit for all. Around 3000 people visit this market on a daily basis.

Yokogawa Releases SensPlus Note, an OpreX Operation and Maintenance Improvement Solution for the Digitization of Field Data Using Mobile Devices

Yokogawa Electric Corporation and MetaMoJi Corporation announce that they have jointly developed SensPlus Note, a low cost and easy to implement solution for the digitization of plant data on mobile devices. SensPlus Note, a solution in Yokogawa’s OpreXTM Operation and Maintenance Improvement family, improves the efficiency and quality of maintenance work and the precision of post-maintenance analyses by enabling data from plant field work to be used more efficiently. This solution will be released in all markets worldwide on January 31.

Development Background

A wide variety of equipment and devices from different manufacturers are used in plants. Each has a specific set of maintenance procedures and check items, and this work is performed as set out in manuals, check lists, and other documentation. While it would improve efficiency and help to ensure that this work is done correctly if field maintenance data could be shared and analyzed in real time, this is not possible in plants where such data is written down on paper documents. To address this need, Yokogawa and MetaMoJi have jointly developed the SensPlus Note solution for the digitization of field maintenance data on mobile devices. This solution draws on Yokogawa’splant operations know-how and MetaMoJi’sproven expertise in developing business applications for mobile devices.

Features

The SensPlus Note solution consists of a data input application and a cloud platform. Data input using this application is digitized and uploaded to a cloud server, where it can be analyzed using other software. The mobile application is based on MetaMoJi’s GEMBA Note, which is an advanced digital notebook that was developed to support maintenance at construction and manufacturing sites.

1. Digitization and real-time sharing of information, with intuitive operation

With the SensPlus Note solution, text input using a pen or keyboard, videos, still images, and audio recordings can all be easily entered on the same form and linked to a device management ledger. In order to ensure the quality of the food we take in our day to day lives, an Israeli based start-up Consumer Physics has launched a pocket device called SCio which can analyse the composition of food, drink and medication we consume, anywhere at anytime.

The SCiO tool works by sending data on the chemical makeup of a particular substance to the user's smartphone, where a variety of applications need to be installed in order to present the final results.

According to Dror Sharon, co-founder of the firm based in Hod Hasharon, near Tel Aviv, the tool is "the first molecular sensor that fits in the palm of your hand."

Not only adulteration, the tool will also allow users to see the calories present in a particular food or drink or tell them if that jacket is really leather.

The tool which is already in the markets doesn't require any physical contact with the substance that needs to be tested because it makes use of a beam of light in what is known as Near Infrared Spectroscopy.

Each molecule present in the substance to be tested interacts with light to create a unique optical signature. This particular technique can reveal an object's chemical properties, such as moisture, fat or sugar content.

The website reads, "The bigger our community gets, the more data SCiO will have about different materials and this goes right back to our community of users."

This wonderful product was first launched on Kickstarter, a crowdfunding site. It received a wonderful response within a short time of its launch and has received 13,000 customers for the gadget at $250 dollars (220 euros) apiece so far. The first batch of gadgets will be out for delivery from December 2015.

The prototype of the gadget has been already been made but is being kept under guards as the makers strongly believe that within a few years the giants of the industry will realise the true potential of the product and come to see the gadget as an indispensable thing.
