HealthTech Startup KiViHealth Raises $400K Funding Via Claris Capital and Chandigarh Angels

KiViHealth, an Ahmedabad-based technology platform to create next-generation medical clinic using intelligence and automation, has raised $400,000 in a pre-Series A round from Claris Capital and Chandigarh Angels.

Earlier, the startup had raised $130,000 in angel round from various individual investors and healthcare experts including Pradeep Jaisingh, founder of International Oncology and Healthstart group.

Founded in 2015, by Indian School of Business Alumni -- Bhanu Mahajan and Rajandeep Singh, KiViHealth is a doctor patient collaboration tool that uses chatbots and visual tools to improve patient doctor engagement. It provides patients with access to their health information,brings more clarity to medical management and enable doctors to make superior medical decisions.

Krishna Handa, founder of Claris Capital told BusinessLine that “We have observed growth of the company over last one year and are enthusiastic to commit our full support to the further growth of the company. We believe that company has proven its product market fit and holds a very strong position at a very right time in further penetrating the ripe digital healthcare ecosystem in India.”

Hemant Sood, a participating investor from Chandigarh Angels Network added that the network will not only provide investment but also mentor the company. He further added that the funds will be used to strengthen KiViHealth’s product offering and scale sales operations and also amount will be used for adding new technologies, including IOT to make the offering more inclusive for both patients and doctors.

KiViHealth is currently operational in Maharashtra, Gujarat and Rajasthan, with more than 2000 paying subscribers, doctors in this case and there are more than 1 million patient registrations on the platform, the company claims adding that it is launching new revenue channels to make the overall offering more inclusive.

Healthcare & Wellness Startup, Healers at Home, Raises 2nd Round of Angel Funding from CAN & Others

Healers at Home, an online marketplace for Home Healthcare & Wellness services, announced today a successful 2nd round of funding for an undisclosed amount. The round saw investment from Let’s Venture and Chandigarh Angels Network with some of the names including the likes of Dr. Jay Patel (US-Based Doctor & Investor – Chandigarh Angels), Mr. Chand Das (Ex-CEO – ITC) and Mr. Pawan Kumar (Ex-President - IBM Global Services).

"Healers at Home is transforming the healthcare at home segment. What attracted us is that their services go beyond the pill & considering their understanding & passion about the subject they have the potential to be the pioneers in this segment. The funds raised by the startup will be used to build deeper technology, traction and penetrate further in the Delhi NCR region along with enhancing the quality across all its services. “We have gained good momentum in the last one year, especially in terms of number of customers. The idea this time is to sustain that momentum and also enrich our services in terms of quality,” said Kshitij Garg, Founder - Healers at Home and Student – Yoga & Meditation.

Kshitij, an IIT Kanpur alumnus practices Yoga & Meditation on a daily basis and implements his learnings from Yoga to Healers at Home. The learnings and team efforts have helped the startup grow 10X in terms of traction and revenue in the year 2016 and they have done more than 100,000 Home Visits in the last 1 year.

Healers at Home is an online marketplace for Home Healthcare & Wellness services. The core team comprises of IIT Kanpur graduates and Healthcare Professionals who have a diverse combined experience of over 35 years in the field of Healthcare, Marketing, Microfinance and Technology.

They currently provide 5 services at home: Physiotherapy, Yoga, Nursing, Attendant Care and Mother & Child Care.

In November 2015, the firm raised an undisclosed amount of angel funding from a clutch of investors including Fortis Healthcare’s president Daljit Singh.

The Gourmet Jar Gets Seed Funding from Chandigarh Angels Network

New Delhi-based The Gourmet Jar has raised an undisclosed amount from Chandigarh Angels Network (CAN). The raised funding will be utilized to build a team, scale operations and add global customers. Substantial amount of current fund raise will be used for marketing and brand building.

The Gourmet Jar offers a range of premium preserves & condiments, in unique flavour combinations, that are handmade in small batches, using all-natural ingredients and no preservatives or additives.

The Gourmet Jar was conceptualized in 2012 by Apeksha Jain, an economics graduate from LSR and a French Teacher, who then followed her passion for food & cooking after she discovered the artisanal style of jams and preserves during her one year stay in France.

The company currently retails from modern trade outlets and premium general stores across India. Their products are sold online through their own portal, as well as on Amazon and Big basket. You can also find The Gourmet Jar products served in some of the top hotel chains across the country. Currently operating out of Noida, the brand has produced over 200,000 jars over the past two years.

The team is looking to launch new products, to increase percentage of sales from the e-commerce channel and gifting space, and to enter the global market.

The startup currently have 16 employees in its team and also plans to hire 10 people across various functions by April 2017.
