More than 500 students, industry leaders, and innovators converged at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi on April 20 for the Youth Speak Forum (YSF) 2025, a dynamic event dedicated to sustainable development and youth leadership. The event was co-organized with Academic Outreach & New Initiatives at IIT Delhi, the forum drew participants from over 50 colleges. The event championed the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, focusing on quality education, decent work and economic growth, industry, innovation, and infrastructure, and responsible consumption and production.

The day-long gathering featured a series of inspiring keynote speeches, hands-on workshops, thought-provoking panel discussions, and AIESEC’s signature “jiving” dance, creating a vibrant atmosphere of collaboration and action. A diverse group of speakers shared their expertise, motivating attendees to drive change in their communities and beyond. Prof. Deepak Jain, an assistant professor at IIT Delhi, spoke passionately about the role of innovation and technology in addressing global challenges, urging students to apply academic knowledge to real-world problems. Shri Krishna Kumar, Director (HR) at Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), emphasized ethical leadership and sustainable practices in industry, drawing from his experience at one of India’s leading public sector enterprises.

Gauri Agarwal from UN Women advocated for gender-balanced practices in sustainable production, emphasizing equity as essential for environmental progress. Corporate training expert Deepak Bajaj energized the crowd with a call to align personal ambitions with global challenges, pushing for bold leadership. “Youth are the driving force for a sustainable future,” Prof. Jain said. “Your ideas, grounded in innovation, can solve the world’s biggest problems.”
