In an important development from the standpoint of school students, Zamit, a leading AI-enabled one-stop solution provider for the school ecosystem, has announced a summer internship programme for secondary school students. Under this programme over a duration of twenty weeks, the ‘job description’ entails designing and developing unique games thereby exposing the students to game development processes, and to also hands on experience of workings in the gaming industry. With the opportunity to design, develop and publish their unique games on several of Zamit’s platforms, students would also benefit from the visibility of their work to over 50,000 users across the globe. Additionally, through the internship, students will be mentored and guided by national and international experts in game design.

To qualify for this programme, a student must make a 60-120 second video submission explaining why he should be selected for this internship. The students can choose their gaming ideas from five sub-themes: Control the Game not the player; Indirect Interaction; Running out of space; The more you have, the worse it gets; and, A light in the dark. The game idea must be a simple, single-player game and must be completed within the duration of the internship.

Summer is the best time for school students to expand their horizons beyond regular classroom activities and take up something worthwhile and different. With this internship programme that aims to bring out their hidden and creative game-related skills and talent, students would get to learn the basics of game design and development while also attaining a degree of familiarity with related subject areas such as programming language for games, interactive media, animation, storytelling, modelling, among others. And with such well-crafted internship programmes, Indian school students would not only be able to make the best of their summer vacation time but also initiate a promising career opportunity for themselves. I must also add that the theme for this internship is around game design and development, however in future. We intend to come up with more such internships with a focus on different subjects, industries and career opportunities,” said Mr. Aarul Malaviya, Founder and Director of Zamit.

In addition to gaining global visibility and recognition, students on successful completion of the programme would receive an internship experience certificate.
