India has opened up its vaccination program for folks aged between 18 and 45 from May 1. To help more people find the nearest vaccination center, the government has partnered with WhatsApp and created a simple tool for the job.

PM Modi, on Saturday, tweeted that citizens in the country can text a WhatsApp bot — called MyGov Corona Helpdesk — to get instant authoritative answers to their coronavirus queries such as the symptoms of the viral disease and how they could seek help.

  1. Text “Hi” to 9013151515 on WhatsApp, or use this link to launch the chatbot.
  2. Once the bot responds with the menu, send 1 — that’s for finding info about COVID vaccination centers and authentic info about vaccines.
  3. Send 1 again to find center details.
  4. Type the six-digit pin code of your area.
  5. You’ll get a reply with your nearest vaccination centers, along with slots available and the age limit applicable for that center.
Once you find the info about the vaccination center, you’ll have to log in to the government-run CoWin website to book your slot to get a dose.
