After the massive success of MTV Dropout, Droom, India’s online automobile transactional platform, is back with another challenge to inspire budding business minds. The national level Droom B-Plan competition, launched on the 15th of September, 2017, aims to identify the brightest business minds across the country by evaluating them on their strategic response to actual business situations experienced by Droom.

What to do?

Among the four marketplace formats of Droom, i.e. B2C, C2C, C2B and B2B, the company is now giving a major push to build the C2C side of the business. With this offering, individual sellers will be able to list their vehicles on the platform which can then be purchased directly by individual buyers/consumers. Droom plans to capture this specific market segment further and is inviting applications that suggest various extraneous steps to achieve the objective.

How to apply?

The competition was launched on the 15th of September, while the registrations open on the 20th of September and continues till 25th October. Applicants need to submit their business plan in the form of a presentation, which includes:

1. Research: Product, consumer and competitor.
2. Proposed plan: A detailed description of features and functionality of the concept on websites and apps, advertising strategy, customer acquisition plan, partnership plan, and any other details that need to be mentioned. While the research aspect will be given a weightage of 35%, 65% of weightage will be assigned to the Proposed Plan.

Commenting on the event, Mr. Sandeep Aggarwal, Founder and CEO, Droom said, “Post the massive success of Droom MTV Dropout, we are here again with another competition that calls out to the best business minds from all over India. This time around, top participants are being presented with an exciting opportunity to collaborate with the decision makers at Droom to find out the best solutions for existing problems in the industry. The problem at hand, i.e. to gauge the gaps in the C2C platform of Droom, is a significant one and had been presented to the contestants of MTV Dropout in a similar form. We hope that Droom B-Plan participants will offer some truly innovative, long-term and optimally efficient solutions to kick-start their professional journeys along with a chance to win the amazing prizes!”

The entries will close on the 25th of October, 2017 and the final result is scheduled to be declared on the 1st of November. The competition will be judged by top management of Droom as well as Sandeep Aggarwal himself. The winner of Droom B-Plan will be awarded with a cash prize of INR 1 lakh, along with a mentorship session with Sandeep Aggarwal and a pre-placement interview with Droom. The first and the second runners-up will also get an opportunity for an interview, along with a cash prize of INR 50,000 and INR 25,000 respectively. All participants will receive an e-certificate and the first 500 entries will win exclusive merchandise from Droom.
