Bangalore-based Highway Delite, a mobile app to assist highway travellers with verified information of highway services, has raised pre-seed funding. The funding was led by N.S. Raghavan Centre for Entrepreneurial Learning, the incubation unit of IIM Bangalore.

Highway Delite is a verified information based mobile app to help travellers make informed decisions on highways regarding pit stops for refreshments and restroom and also assist travellers in case of emergency situations including accidents, vehicle breakdown and medical needs.

The mobile app platform has facilities information and photos of verified restaurants, fuel pumps, lodge including photos of restroom. Further, the platform has introduced accident zones on the map and provided the nearest emergency contact information. The app also have information for categories including mechanic, highway emergency contact, hospitals, pharmacy, and toll gates.

The app can be used either to plan your road trip by ‘Search Along Route’ by entering the source and destination or can be used real time location basis through ‘Search Near Me’ option, which would show nearest options in the range of 15 Kms. It also provides you with option of filters to narrow down your search. For example- for a family traveller, you can search restaurant having children play area. For night travellers, you can filter fuel pump which are open 24 hours with credit card facility. The app has also partnered with few restaurant to offer exclusive discounts for travellers with highway delite app.

The mobile app can be used pan India also with limitation of non-verified information. The verified route available on Highway Delite spans around 3500+ kms around Bangalore with information of more than 1500+ verified outlets.

Founded in May 2015 by Rajesh G, the startup has taken this task of verifying India’s highways, with length of more than 2.25 lakh kms of National and State Highways and contributing towards making the highway journey safe and fun.
