Intel Bay Trail T-CR SoC

Intel, the software giant, has come up with a Bay Trail Atom Mini PC which weighs as light as 1.6 ounces. The PC has been designed to plug into an HDMI port and works almost similar to Google's famous Chromecast. The device is designed to plug into an HDMI port and connects to the internet via Wi-Fi technology and can be powered using a micro USB port. The device though looks like a dongle but is actually a full blown x86 Personal Computer.

Reportedly, its a smallest full-functional PC in the world supporting Windows 8.1 and Android.

This little PC is manufactured by Shenzen Apec Electronics and can bought on AliExpress for $131 including the shipping charges to India. The $131 price does not include an Operating System. The user is free to load any OS be it Android, Windows, Linux or any other Atom friendly operating system of his/her choice.

The little PC runs on a 32 bit Z3735F quad-core Bay Trail Processor and has 1 GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage. It further has a micro SD expansion slot, 802.11 b/g/n and a Bluetooth 4.0.

A beefier model is also available for the same. The beefier model has a 64 bit Atom  Z3735G and a 2 GB of RAM. The internal storage of the model can be increased upto 32 GB. The seller has not mentioned the price for the upgrade to this model.

The guts in the little PC are the same as the $65 Windows tablet that released earlier this week.

Recently there have been plenty of other USB dongles that have been launched, such as the Microsoft Wireless Adapter, Mozilla Matchstick, and Google Chromecast, but none these are bot full-functional PCs and Intel's Bay Trail Mini PC could be the device to get considering the possibilities it can open up with respect to portability and connectivity options.
