Global Tech Summit 2023 Join Hands with NRDC, APIS to Honour Tech Innovation in India

The Global Tech Summit leaders unveiled a 3-minute video to highlight the significance of the summit and how it is elevating India’s G20 presidency.

The Global Tech Summit 2023 organisers today unveiled a three-minute video highlighting the significance of the tech summit and how it is elevating India's G20 Presidency, becoming a go-to-platform for tech entrepreneurial opportunities, and showcasing Indian tech power to the world.

The Global Tech Summit 2023 announced an “Innovation Awards” section, in partnership with the National Research Development Corporation (NRDC) and the Andhra Pradesh Innovation Society (APIS), that recognizes and showcases innovation in emerging technologies in the fields of agriculture and healthcare.

Dr. Srinubabu Gedela, lead organiser of Global Tech Summit 2023 revealed this in Visakhapatnam today to the media alongside the key representatives from the National Research Development Corporation (NRDC), the Ministry of Science and Technology, and the governments of India and Andhra Pradesh.

The summit, which is set to take place in Visakhapatnam, is expected to attract over 1,000 business delegations and 10,000 participants. It will cover a range of technology-related topics and feature guest speakers from diverse backgrounds. The NRDC and APIS will also join forces with the summit to showcase and reward innovation in India.

The Global Scale Summit will feature a range of tech-related topics, including pharma tech, edutech, agritech, fintech, metaverse, biotech, and startup fest.

Addressing the media, the Honorable Minister for Industries, Infrastructure, and IT, Shri Gudivada Amarnadh, extended the Ministry's cooperation and support and urged the Global Tech Summit leaders to actively promote the Andhra Pradesh economy while explaining the significance of the Vizag G20 summit meetings. Visakhapatnam is becoming a hub for global meetings under the leadership of the chief minister, Shri YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. The summit will highlight futuristic.

The Vizag Tech Summit which will be held on 16-17th February 2023 is supported by the National Research Development Corporation (NRDC), the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Government of India, the Andhra Pradesh Innovation Society, the Government of Andhra Pradesh and organized by Pulsus Group. The platform which anticipates culmination of projects worth Rs. 3000 Cr aims to provide a space for influential tech and business leaders from around the world to connect and share insights.

Govt-Owned NRDC Invites Applications from Startups for Seed/Angel Funding

The National Research Development Corporation (NRDC), a non-departmental government body in India, has invited proposals for Seed/Angel funding from manufacturing startups in the country. The Scheme supports innovations that have the potential to build and shape the development of technology-driven entrepreneurs.

Established with an aim to transfer technology from the public sector to the private sector, NRDC is an enterprise of Department of Scientific & Industrial Research (DSIR), Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India.

NRDC proposes to participate in the equity share capital of startup and early-stage growth focused on innovative companies. It proposes to invest in innovative entrepreneurs at the crucial stage where the ventures are just getting off the ground. It is a high stake investing, which can result in unexpected returns.

Through this scheme, the Corporation would select startup and early stage companies and provide a part of the capital required, as Seed/Angel funding to innovators, who prima-facie have the potential to develop significant technical and commercial entities.

For an equity in the startup/company, NRDC will provide funding ranging from Rs. 10 lakhs to Rs. 30 lakhs.

Eligibility

Entrepreneurs must have their incubatee companies based in Incubators in any Central/State Government supported institutions. The incubatee company must have been in existence for at least six months, prior to submitting a fund request for angel funding. Further, the organization structure of such Incubators must be a non-profit organization, such as, Registered Society or Section 25/Section 8 Company.

New start-up and early-stage growth focused innovative companies (mainly engaged in development and commercialization of new products or new application of existing products or new technologies or processes) based Incubators in any State / Central Government supported institutions are eligible. The Startup should be incorporated under the Companies Act, 1956.

The last date for the application's submission has been extended to December 15, 2018.

Applications will be evaluated for their scientific, technological, commercial, managerial and financial merits.
