India's Answer to Twitter Koo Gets Press Information Bureau’s (PIB) Unit of Home Affairs Ministry As Its User

The Press Information Bureau’s (PIB) Unit handling the Ministry of Home Affairs, has opened an official account on made-in-India social media platform - Koo.

The Ministry of Home Affairs is amongst one of the most important ministries in the Government of India. The Koo platform of the PIB’s Unit handling the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), will provide information from time to time on the developments of public importance that relate to this ministry

In its first post, the PIB’s MHA Koo account provided information related to a reply by the Ministry during Question Hour in the Rajya Sabha on February 2, with regard to the Government of India’s zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism.


Welcoming the PIB Unit handling the Ministry of Home Affairs to the platform, a Koo Spokesperson said, “We are privileged to host the PIB’s Unit handling the Ministry of Home Affairs on Koo. We will enable the PIB’s Unit handling the Ministry of Home Affairs to share information about the initiatives and activities undertaken by the Ministry of Home Affairs."

HDFC Securities Becomes the 1st Indian Brokerage House to debut on Koo



Will use the Indian micro-blogging platform to create financial literacy and connect with customers in Hindi and English

New Delhi, August 16, 2021: HDFC Securities, one of India's leading broking houses made its debut on the micro-blogging platform – Koo – to reach out to its customers and enable the widespread creation of financial literacy. Using the handle @hdfcsec, they will leverage India’s new social media platform to interact with customers in both English and Hindi.

Through the multi-lingual offerings from Koo, we want to cut down the learning curve of capital markets by producing content in regional languages. How to Download Koo: The app is available for users to download on the mobile App Store. Users have the option to register using either their mobile number or email ID. Once registration is complete, they can follow their favourite celebrities, athletes, politicians, entertainers and thought leaders on Koo. Koo empowers users by allowing them to communicate in their native languages, should they wish to.

Twitter's Indian Rival Koo Publishes Social Media Compliance Report for July 2021

Report published second month in a row aims to bring transparency to the process of enabling compliance requirements on social media

National, August 02, 2021: In accordance with *Rule 4(d) of the of the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021 of the Government of India, Koo has published a social media Compliance Report for July 2021, in the manner required by the Rules.

The report for July 2021 shows that of the 3,431 Koos reported by the Community, 14.5 percent (498) were removed, while other action was taken against the rest – 2,933. Similarly, Koo took steps to proactively moderate 65,280 Koos, of which 2.9 percent (1,887) were removed while other action was taken against the rest – 63,393. ‘Other action’ includes overlay, blur, ignore, warn, etc., related to Koos that do not comply with GoI guidelines.
