GoDaddy Launches App For Domain Auctions in India

GoDaddy Inc. (NYSE: GDDY), which operates the world's largest domain name aftermarket, today announced the launch of its first mobile app for domain investors in India. The GoDaddy Investor app, launching on iOS and Android, will allow investors to watch and bid on domains at auction and stay on top of their current bids all from their mobile device.

Aftermarket domain auctions are time-sensitive and highly competitive, and it's critical that investors are able to easily participate at any time and from anywhere, not just from their computers.

GoDaddy Investor app offers several additional features not previously available. After downloading the app, domain investors are able to monitor a watch list of active expiry domain auctions in real time, as well as view their bidding history. Investors can also see the auction history for each domain, including the number of bidders and the prices of their bids. Investors can also place proxy bids and securely re-authenticate with finger authorization. A streamlined, visual dashboard count shows, at-a-glance, how many auctions investors have won, bid on, or are watching overall. Finally, since auctions are won and lost in an instant, push notifications will immediately alert investors when they've been outbid on auctions that are ending soon.

“Having the right domain name is critical for any business and their inherent value makes domain names akin to being the ‘real estate’ on the Internet. Domain investors have a unique opportunity to invest in domain names that can be capitalised for a profit in the future. GoDaddy’s Investor App is designed keeping in mind the timely nature of bids, allowing investors to register valuable pre-owned domain names, win auctions and keep a closer eye on their bids, no matter where they are,” said Rajiv Sodhi, Vice President and Managing Director, GoDaddy, India and Australia. “With internet penetration accelerating in India, an increasing number of businesses and individuals are realising the importance of having the right, identifiable domain. Though with approximately four million registered domain names, domain penetration in India is relatively lower, we foresee significant momentum for domain name growth with more businesses coming online, along with the availability of more top-level domain name choices."

GoDaddy Investor v 2.2 is now available on iPhone and iPad (iOS 8 and above) and Android phones (4.1 and above) in English-speaking markets.

Headquartered in Scottsdale, Ariz. USA, GoDaddy also has offices across other locations including in Washington, Massachusetts, Iowa and California in the U.S., and international locations in Australia, Brazil, Canada, India, Mexico, Netherlands, Singapore and in the U.K.
