Jo has seven years of experience in business strategy, digital marketing strategy, tactical planning, cross-channel marketing and market research.

Previously, Jo was at Eli Lilly in India, where she was hired by the affiliate to design a digital transformation plan that would allow Lilly to rapidly accelerate its digital footprint in India. Her digital innovations have been used as best practices by Lilly to accelerate digital transformation across its emerging market affiliates like Thailand, Saudi Arabia etc.

Hiring of Jo comes at a time when Curofy is looking to explore monetization channels by disrupting the pharma marketing industry. Curofy has already run some successful pilots with both Indian and International pharma giants, and has also established strong relationships with other pharma companies. From market research, to drug launch to webinar registration, Curofy is going the whole yard in building an array of offerings for the industry to choose from. It is also notable that the consumer healthcare sector and also other stakeholders like financial services, hopitals are also reaching out to curofy to help them in their digital strategy. What is even more interesting is the fact that even NGOs have touched base with Curofy to explore the synergies possible.

Curofy has started pilots with major healthcare stake-holders in the industry. Pharma giants like GSK, Abbott, Dr Reddy's and Cipla are already onboard to take advantage of the ever-growing and highly engaged doctor’s community on Curofy.

Last month as part of their expansion to walk towards the monetization route, Curofy also hired Abhishek Sharma, ex Limeroad Head of Products as VP Products.

For Pharma companies, the marketing towards doctors takes the brunt of the budget. Right from the very inception of the idea of the drug to the brand perception, customer engagement and social listening could hold the key to arrive at actionable inputs. Digitisation in the industry will bring the offline phenomenon online.

“Pharma marketing is an important aspect of health care sector and with Jo on board we are sure to gain from her invaluable experience and knowledge”, said Mudit Vijayvergiya, co-founder Curofy. "The pharma market is looking to go digital as evident from the flurry of pilot projects that we presently doing,Jo's industry knowledge will help gauge the needs of the industry." He added.

Jo has a Masters degree in biological sciences from BITS Pilani and an MBA from Simon School of Business in Rochester, New York. She is passionate about reinventing healthcare customer engagement through technology and believes in mobile health, multichannel marketing, physician social networks and digital transformation strategies for pharmaceutical industry.

Limeroad Head of Product Joins Curofy to Walk the Monetization Route

Curofy, the largest community of verified doctors has appointed former Head of Products Limeroad, Abhishek Sharma as VP Products.  As a seasoned campaigner, he has been a part of the start up ecosystem right from his early days at Flipkart. An IIT Delhi graduate rose up the ranks from a founding member of its technology team to become the Head of Products at Limeroad and has played a pivotal role in their success.

Abhishek has also tried his hand at entrepreneurship for a brief span of time when he started Offerbean.com, an eCommerce marketplace platform in 2011. With Abhishek in the team, the co-founders firmly believe that Curofy can certainly monetise their business without affecting the user experience.

Curofy has started pilots with major healthcare stake-holders in the industry.  Pharma giants like GSK, Abbott, Sanofi are already onboard to take advantage of the ever-growing and highly engaged doctor’s community on Curofy.  Curofy has also tied up with Philips in another deal that can prove to be crucial going into their next phase of growth.

Apart from the big names, various smaller firms have reached out to Curofy in order to get doctors on board economically. The projects range from product launches to webinar campaigns to brand recall to hard sales. The market for digital marketing of pharma products, medical devices, medical recruitment and medical content is expected to reach to north of US$1bn in India by 2021.

“The sheer range of projects the industry is coming up with is testimony of the potential they see in us.” says Pawan Gupta, co-founder, Curofy. “These pilots will also help us in zeroing in the best monetization paths for us.” he adds.  As the co-founder puts it, so far so good till now. “The industry is looking to go digital. They have identified companies Curofy as a viable channel. This poses a serious challenge, as it has not been before. And we are definitely up for it”.

In a time when the medical industry as whole is looking to cut down marketing budgets not only because of rising competition but also because of various government regulations. Hence digital has emerged as viable option for the industry to mobilise their target audience. Incidentally, this movement is turning out to be a global phenomenon. As it turns healthcare industries all over the world were facing inefficiencies of some kind, which they are actively trying overcome. Hence Curofy is venturing into pilots in certain countries where the time seems right.

Curofy has started its pilots in countries like UAE, Lebanon, Turkey and Saudi Arabia. "The pilots were mainly to judge the markets in these countries. Though language has been a palpable barrier, we have received pretty great response especially from Turkey where the market is very similar to that of India’s.", says Gupta.

Curofy wants to make the doctors more efficient every day. And if they can solve the industries problem and yet keep the experience of the doctors intact, they would go a long way towards achieving their ambitious dream. They have weathered the storm. They now need to ride the wave. And with a team comprising of the best of talents available today, the dream is certainly on.

How Three IIT-Delhi Alumni Created India's Largest Community of Verified Doctors.

Doctors are someone whom we trust with our lives and the lives of our loved ones. Wouldn't it be great if we could have all the doctors under one roof? Well, solving this doctors dilemma is a Gurgaon based startup called Curofy.

What is Curofy?

Boasting to be India's largest community of verified doctors, Curofy has been conceived with the sole objective of bridging the currently visible gap among doctors and help them collaborate easily with each other to solve various medical cases.

By offering a secure and spam-free platform to doctors to communicate with each other, Curofy currently has more than 30000 active doctors and 150 medical cases being discussed daily on the Curofy app.

Using the app, doctors can share cases with each other, call each other without saving numbers and provide referrals to one another. Not only this, using the app, the user will also have access to all the latest developments happening in various medical fields, thus transforming the platform into a collaborative learning one.

With the medical field evolving everyday with new diseases, new cures and new technology, practicing professionals find it a tough task to keep pace with these developments but with Curofy, all this is soon going to be a thing of the past.

How did the journey begin?

The idea for Curofy stuck the three founders mind during a midnight coffee break in the last year of college. With the entrepreneurial bug bitten, the three decided to first research well and then take the final plunge. After graduation, they stuck with good paying MNC jobs, while simultaneously researching and meeting doctors. Once they were fully sure about the concept, they left their jobs and joined hands to give life to Curofy.

USP of the Startup

According to Curofy, being a mobile only platform has proved to be a big plus point for them as it helps them provide their users with a sorted, clutter free environment- something which is a far cry from their busy and complex professional lives. The ease with which the doctors can network with one another is something which no other platform has been able to achieve in the past.
