Kuehne+Nagel has opened a state-of-the-art Tech Centre in Chennai, India, reinforcing its global engineering network and enhancing its ability to design, scale, and deliver proprietary digital logistics solutions.
Founded in 1890, Kuehne+Nagel is one of the world’s largest logistics providers, headquartered in Switzerland, with a strong global presence across nearly 100 countries and more than 1,300 offices. It is the global leader in sea and air freight forwarding, while also holding significant positions in road and contract logistics.
As supply chains worldwide become increasingly technology-driven, customers demand greater visibility, speed, resilience, and superior experiences. Meeting this demand requires access to top-tier engineering talent—an area where India has established itself as a global leader. Chennai, with its mature business ecosystem and proven support for international operations, was chosen as the strategic location for this new investment. The centre complements Kuehne+Nagel’s existing technology footprint worldwide.
By early 2027, the Chennai Tech Centre will host around 250 experts contributing to the advancement of global platforms such as SALOG, Kuehne+Nagel’s flagship digital forwarding solution for managing sea and air freight shipments. To accelerate the centre’s scale-up, Kuehne+Nagel is partnering with Accenture to build and strengthen the workforce.
Christina Raab, Market Unit Lead Central and Eastern Europe at Accenture, noted: “The launch of Kuehne+Nagel’s Tech Centre in Chennai highlights the strength of our partnership. By combining our technology expertise with local talent, we are laying the foundation for scalable growth.”
Marcus Claesson, CIO at Kuehne+Nagel, added: “Digital capabilities are now a key differentiator in logistics. Developing our platforms in-house enables faster innovation, global scalability, and continuous customer experience improvements. The Chennai Tech Centre enhances our engineering strength and supports the next generation of digital logistics solutions.”
