IN-SPACe Offers ₹67 Crore to Four More Indian Space Companies Under Technology Adoption Fund

New selections take the number of companies supported under TAF to seven, with ₹67.15 crore in funding offered for the development of critical indigenous space technologies

The Indian National Space Promotion and Authorisation Centre (IN-SPACe) has selected Maharashtra-based Manastu Space, MumbaiSemi (IMumbai Semiconductor Pvt. Ltd.) and Inspecity Space Laboratories Pvt. Ltd., and Bengaluru-based VyomIC (AeroDome Technologies Pvt. Ltd.) for financial support under its Technology Adoption Fund (TAF). The latest selections will receive funding offers totalling ₹67.15 crore to develop indigenous technologies across satellite propulsion, in-orbit servicing, precision timing systems for space as well as ground applications and NavIC enabled GNSS System on Chip (SoC).

Under the latest round, Manastu Space, Mumbai has been offered ₹22.08 crore to develop an iodine-based Hall Effect Thruster for small satellites. The integrated propulsion system will combine a thruster, power processing unit and modular iodine feed and tank system. The use of solid iodine as a propellant is expected to eliminate the need for high-pressure tanks and simplify fuelling and integration, offering a more compact and cost-efficient alternative to conventional xenon-based systems. It is notable that only a few companies globally have either developed or in the process of developing Iodine based Hall Effect Thruster. Manastu will be the first Indian company to develop such technology.

Inspecity Space Laboratories has been offered ₹21.18 crore to develop a refuellable six-degree-of-freedom propulsion system for microsatellites. Designed around a green bipropellant architecture, the system will incorporate an integrated refuelling port and self-pressurised propellant arrangement. The technology is intended to support more flexible satellite manoeuvring and enable future in-space servicing applications.

VyomIC has been offered ₹12.55 crore to develop highly stable and secure clocks for space applications. The proposed system will combine miniature atomic clocks and high-performance oven-controlled crystal oscillators with adaptive filtering and advanced steering algorithms. Although the primary objective of this technology is to cater for LEO-PNT services, it can also find its application in the time requirement for satellite constellations, deep space exploration and compact space platforms.

MumbaiSemi has been offered ₹11.34 crore to develop an indigenous, multi-channel NavIC and GPS receiver system-on-chip (SoC) integrating RF and digital components. The reconfigurable chip is being designed for standard positioning and wideband applications, with the objective of strengthening domestic capabilities in satellite navigation receiver technology. The development of SoC is very significant for the proliferation of home grown NavIC system across all the Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) applications.

Commenting on the selections, Dr Pawan Goenka, Chairman, IN-SPACe, said, “The two spacecraft propulsion technologies are selected with an objective that these products are being developed for the first time in India and they a high commercial potential. The development of high stable and precision clock and time generation and the development of indigenous SoC for GNSS including NavIC is going to significantly reduce the dependence of foreign chipsets. Through these technologies, India can build a more complete domestic space ecosystem, expand industry participation and create export opportunities for Indian companies.”

The latest announcement builds on IN-SPACe's first selection under TAF in June 2026, when Astrobase Space Technologies, SatSure Analytics India and TM2SPACE Technologies were selected for funding to develop technologies spanning launch vehicle propulsion, Earth observation analytics and satellite navigation systems.

The selected projects will be implemented against defined milestones, with funding and progress monitored in accordance with the scheme's requirements. The support is intended to help companies advance technology development and bridge the gap between early-stage innovation and wider adoption.

The Technology Adoption Fund is an IN-SPACe initiative designed to support Indian non-governmental entities (NGEs) in absorbing, adapting and commercialising advanced space technologies. Through financial support for technology development and adoption, the scheme seeks to strengthen India's domestic space capabilities and enable greater participation by Indian industry in the growing global space economy.
