XSEED Education, an education company headquartered in Singapore, has acquired Chennai, India-based edtech startup Report Bee for an undisclosed amount, reported several media outlets.

By integrating Report Bee’s assessment platform and suite of products, XSEED seeks to make it easier for schools to make real-time assessments, provide personalized student feedback, and analyze data to diagnose teaching gaps.

Fouded in 2011, by Ananthraman Mani, Bala Ganesh S. and Anjan T, Report Bee provides a cloud-based software solution that allows schools to assess, report and analyse the performance of individual students, classes and teachers.

Post this acquisition, all three Report Bee founders will join the XSEED technology product team.

In September 2015 Report Bee raised undisclosed amount in angel funding round led by India Educational Investment Fund, an early-stage impact investment fund wholly backed by Michael & Susan Dell Foundation. In June 2016, the startup had received non-equity based assistance from Microsoft Accelerator Bangalore.

"This is an important step towards becoming a complete education technology company. Report Bee brings on board capabilities in analytics, reporting, personalized assessment, and product design that compliment the XSEED Method, products and philosophy," said Ashish Rajpal (in aboce picture), founder and CEO of XSEED, who is a Harvard graduate.

Besides Report Bee, XSEED has acquired Delhi-based Pleolabs in 2015. Pleolabs develops online technologies for teachers, students, parents, and administrators.

Headquartered in Singapore with development centers in Delhi and Bangalore, XSEED reaches a million children in 8 countries.

The XSEED Method has been implemented by 3,000 schools across India, the Philippines, Dubai, Riyadh, Qatar and Oman.

As of 2018, the XSEED method is practised in an estimated 3,000 schools across Asia, serving children from birth to thirteen years old. XSEED Education serves over 1,000,000 children.
