The Pfizer IIT Delhi Innovation and IP Program (PIDIIP) envisages a unique partnership model, which is designed to provide funding, resources, expertise and infrastructure to propel India’s healthcare innovations from idea to intellectual property (IP), has called for applications from Healthcare start-ups and Individual innovators across India.

Pfizer-IIT Delhi Innovation and IP Program is a technology incubation accelerator co-created by American pharmaceutical conglomerate Pfizer and FITT (Foundation of Innovation and Technology Transfer) at IIT-Delhi to provide resident incubation and funding to propel innovations from idea to IP.

The role of Pfizer in the program will be to provide grants upto INR 50 lakhs for each innovator to take the selected ideas through proof of concept to IP filing and mentoring support from Pfizer’s global experts.

The program will support healthcare ideas/innovations in the field of Medical devices, Mobile health, Microbial technology, Diagnostics, Bio-medical/Informatics, new healthcare technologies etc.

Program Components

There are two components of the Pfizer IIT Delhi Innovation & IP Program (PIDIIP):


  1. For innovators seeking comprehensive support to translate their healthcare ideas into new business opportunities, the Program provides:



    • Resident Incubation at IIT Delhi’s incubators for a period of up to 2 years.

    • Funding of up to INR 50 lakhs for each innovator/start-up to take ideas through proof of concept to IP.

    • Mentoring support from IIT Delhi’s faculty and FITT nominated experts.

    • IP search and filing services.

    • Guidance from Pfizer’s experts.






  2. For innovators who already have a proof of principle/concept and are only looking for IP related support, the program provides:


    • Access to IP counseling services at FITT.

    • Funding support of up to INR 3 lakh to cover patenting expenses.

The program will support upto 4 healthcare start-ups/individual innovators that will be incubated, and upto 10 healthcare innovations for IP filing only.

Applications will be short listed by a Selection Committee of the Pfizer –IIT Delhi Innovation and IP Program comprising of subject experts, entrepreneurs, IP experts and investors.
