Delhi-based clean tech product startup Bonphul Air Products, the maker of OxyMax, India's first -- and the world's second -- oxygen optimizer, has raised ₹2 Crore in an Angel Investment Round from Rx Infotech and Karmesh Global Technologies.

The startup, co-founded by Prodyut Bora who's the founder of BJP IT Cell, will use the freshly raised capital for expansion of its product portfolio, and widening its sales & marketing network. It also plans to infuse funds into technology development, and roll out highly customized solutions for users in different verticals like hospitals, schools, shopping malls etc.

Earlier in October, the startup had raised an undisclosed amount of seed capital from Faridabad-based investor Satish Bhatia.

Founded in 2017 by Prodyut Bora and Narendra Bisht, Bonphul is a maker of its first flagship product OxyMax, that operates in a “split” mode, with an outdoor unit and an indoor unit. The outdoor unit harvests oxygen from the outside air and pumps it indoor, where it is dispensed by the indoor unit. This increases the oxygen level in the indoor air from its current level to 21%, creating an environment of freshness and vigour.

Interestingly, Prodyut Bora, one of the co-founders, is a founder and former head of political party Bharatiya Janata Party's IT Cell. He was also a National Executive Committee member of the BJP until he decided to leave the party in February 2015. He is an alumnus of Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIM-Ahmedabad).

In 2016, when Delhi was ranked the highest, by the World Health Organization, in terms of most polluted air, Prodyut and Narendra saw it as an opportunity and launched Bonphul Air Products.

Notably, an "oxygen optimiser" is different from the other popular "air-purifiers" in a sense that while an air purifier removes dust particles, an oxygen optimiser adds oxygen to air.

Commenting on the recent funding, Narendra Bisht, COO and Co-Founder said, “The company will use the invested funds for expansion of its product portfolio, and widening its sales & marketing network. The company also plans to infuse funds into technology development, and roll out highly customized solutions for users in different verticals like hospitals, schools, shopping malls etc.”

Narendra is an entrepreneur and founder-Director of Respirotech Med Solutions, the parent company of Bonphul Medsys. Started in 2009, Respirotech dealt in importing medical equipment and, over the years, had built a wide supplier network.
