Roofpik, Indian customer focused real estate property and broker review platform, has announced the acquisition of Shoppist, a personalized product discovery platform. The acquisition will strengthen Roofpik core team and bring personalized property recommendations to its users.
The acquisition was driven by Roofpik’s interest in Shoppist’s use of NLP technology, which helps consumers discover the most relevant products based on their user persona. With this technology, Roofpik will be able to validate reviews and generate meaningful analytics from over 5,000 user reviews that are currently live on the platform.
Roofpik is India’s first property reviews focused platform, like Zomato for the restaurant, TripAdvisor for hotels, Yelp or Glassdoor for businesses. Roofpik itself has placed data analytics at the core of its property review and search platform where people can “Read”, “Write” & “Talk” about their experiences. A crowdsourced curated content platform, roofpik takes the leap as the trusted and genuine real estate discovery platform.
Post the acquisition, Divij Goyal, an IIT Roorkee alumnus and founder of Shoppist, will join the Roofpik board as Chief marketing officer. Commenting on the acquisition, Divij Goyal said, “There's a clear gap in the real estate space which can be addressed by offering user-generated reviews/ratings of properties and agents. I hope this acquisition will definitely help to build Roofpik a bigger and a valuable brand for users."

Prior to Roofpik, Arpit had founded Edcited, an educational technology company, which was acquired by CoCubes in 2015. CoCubes was subsequently acquired by AonHewitt.
