Frustrated with your internet speed? Has slow internet surfing become something you have now learned to live with, maybe forever? Well, don't. The situation is about the change from 5th July, 2016. Yes, remember the date because your world is going to change forever from this Tuesday.

India's Telecom regulator TRAI recently announced about its plans to launch a mobile app which will help consumers easily measure their internet speed on their smartphones and then send their results to the authority.

The mobile Application is being called the MySpeed App by TRAI and will be available from download from the mobile sewa app store from July 5th onwards.

According to a statement issued by the Telecom Regulatory Authority, the app will allow users to measure their data speed experience and then convey the results to TRAI Analytics Portal. Along with the app, the portal is also scheduled to go Live on 5th July.

According to TRAI, the app will be capable of sending network, data speed, coverage information, along with device and the customer's location.

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India has officially defined a minimum internet speed that the telecom companies are liable to dispense to their consumers. However, inspite of this, Indian consumers always complain of dealing with poor internet speed. Recently during one of its drive test, the regulator was shocked to find out that Indian 3G customers of some of the operators were being provided with 2G internet speed most of the time in a few selected Indian cities.

Well, it seems, there are "acche din" ahead finally for all Indian Internet users. Hail TRAI!
