Apple enthusiasts, it is time to celebrate. There are two cracker of news for the religious Indian followers of the California based company.
A senior Telangana government official recently revealed, that the global tech giant is fully set to inaugurate its development centre on May 19 in the city of pearls, Hyderabad. Well, while this one is big Apple news, the following one takes the cake. According to rumours doing round in the tech industry, Apple's CEO, Tim Cook, is also all set for his maiden visit to the Indian land this week for a meet and greet with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
While the inauguration of the development centre and Cook's visit might be happening around the same time, it is still not clear whether Cook will be attending the inauguration ceremony.
According to a statement given to PTI by Jayesh Ranjan, State IT Departments Secretary, "Apple team is coming. But we do not know who are the members of the team which is coming on May 19 (Thursday) for the launch of the facility. We are not 100 per cent sure whether Apple CEO Tim Cook will be there or not. We also asked them. We are waiting for the confirmation."
He also revealed that executives from the tech giant have already visited the state and had an extensive meeting with the government officials regarding various clearances. They have also already narrowed in on a building in Nanakramguda, owned by Tishman Speyer. According to Ranjan, the government is making sure that the company has absolutely no roadblocks in obtaining all the necessary approvals from various government departments.
The amount of money that the tech giant is ready to invest in the centre hasn't been specified yet, but considering the recent global nosediving that Apple's sale took except India, we can expect the investment to be pretty generous.
