Mumbai-based Nazara Games has made an undisclosed investment in London-based mobile games studio TrulySocial, along with London Venture Partners and Drussila Hollanda-Gronberg, who is a game lead at mobile game developer, Supercell.

The startup plans to launch a social world game for mobile phones and tablets specifically targeting women. The game would create real-life situations and weekly updates for individual player experiences by the end of 2016.

"The women-centric genre is a very important space for us to target. There's a largely untapped gaming audience in India and their product has the potential to gain over 1 million downloads in a relative short time-span, among women in both tier 2 and 3 (cities), as well as the metros," said Manish Agarwal, CEO of Nazara Games.

Nazara is a mobile games developer and publisher focused on the mobile consumer base in India and worldwide. In addition to developing a range of branded and original mobile games, Nazara operates unique services such as “Games Club”. Its customers include mobile carriers as well as handset manufacturers. Nazara is present in 41 countries across the world and reaches out to more than 2 Billion consumers across emerging markets.

LVP is a seed fund that only invests in gaming sector. The LVP team has been seed investors in game companies that have created $6.5 billion in value through exits including Supercell, Playfish and Natural Motion, and is an investor in many other great companies including Unity, PlayRaven, Omnidrone, Peak and Polystream.

Drussila has over 10+ years of building massively successful mobile and casual games. Her previous experience includes Wooga, Rovio and Digital Chocolate. She has been instrumental in the success of titles such as Hay Day and Monsters World, and is an expert in creating immersive, top grossing games.
