Jaipur-based Blue Box Media has raised an undisclosed amount of angel funding from Rajasthan Angels Innovators Network (RAIN), lead by Mahavir Pratap Sharma (Chairman & Co-founder at RAIN) and participated by Yogesh Chaudhary, Sanjay Phophaliya, Siddharth Agarwal, Kamal Kothari and others. Ajay Data (CEO of Data Infosys) is the Tech Mentor & Guide on Board with Blue Box Media.

The funds will be used to develop in house video content. "We are creating shows like India's first, 5 minute daily tech news show, called "The Bulletin" and 'Startup Trek', India's first web based travel startup show (exploring startup ecosystems across 8 cities), among other new-age, web shows as well -- with never seen before graphic elements and a whole new viewing experience," said Pawas Jain, Blue Box Media's Founder.

The company claims that it is trying to build the biggest Video Based Platform for content creation based out of India, with original content. The firm is also going to use the funds to expand in South East Asia, and it is starting to report from Taiwan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Philippines and Indonesia.

Founded in 2011, Blue Box Media owns and manages, The Tech Portal which covers startup related news comprehensively, and in a refreshing manner. The company also operates Springtide, a small online flipbook style magazine for young writers.

Commenting on the funding, Pawas further added, "This is a great push for the team, and for the hiring that we required. We will now be able to build a strong team, and improve our technology back-end to become a highly tech driven digital media house that we aim to be."

Blue Box's Tech Portal gets around three lakh page views every month and aims to reach a milestone of 10 lakh by end of this year.
