Noida-based TLabs, a startup accelerator and an early stage seedfund led by Times Internet, recently released a statement announcing its eight batch of start-ups that kickstarted in August, 2015.

Started four years ago in the year 2011, the new batch takes the accelerator's total portfolio count to 50 companies.

Apparently the startup received over 700 applications for the new batch. “Most of the companies that make it through our initial screening process have good traction to support their applications. Due to this, we are also receiving some very high potential startups for a seed stage round,” said Abhishek Gupta, head, TLabs in a statement to a website.

According to Gupta, selecting the August, 2015 batch was the toughest so far for his team in the four years of their existence. A major reason for this could be the quality of talent ditching their high paying corporate jobs and taking the entrepreneurial route.
