Nowadays having a degree is not enough. Having people skills with a good degree is what makes you stand out from the crowd and there is a platform which helps you acquire just that. Mettl is an online testing and assessment platform that allows you to measure, analyze and improve your people skills.

Founded in 2010 by Tonmoy Singhal and Ketan Kapoor, Mettl can help measure the hard skills that are directly required for the job profile rather than just the knowledge that can be easily acquired by rote learning.  Singhal and Kapoor started the company with an aim of revolutionizing the assessments space with highly reliable, cost-effective and valid tests.

Tonmoy is considered a perfectionist who is extremely detail oriented. He is an MBA from IIM Bangalore and a graduate from IIT Kanpur. He has a prior experience of working at Texas Instruments and The Boston Consulting Group. On the other Hand, Kapoor is an engineer from IIT-Roorkee and an MBA from IIM Calcutta. Before starting up Mettl, Kappor worked for marketing at Isango, a startup which is now one of the world’s largest collection of trips, tours and activities.

The platform is perfect for companies that want to run multi-competency assessments for their prospective hire or even existing employees. The company focuses on the science of the assessments and then combines it with advanced technology in order to deliver reliable and valid tests.

The platform even allows one to create and customize online tests according to their needs. Mettl has a very simple and user-friendly interface to add sections, configure timings, and randomize questions and answers. One can even add quality questions from the already available extensive question banks or create their own questions.  It even provides you with an option to control test delivery option and get real time test reports and analytics.

The Gurgaon based startup has worked with some of the top names in multiple industries. It has over 100 clients which include HCL, Wipro, Ericsson, Inmobi, Cognizant etc. The startup is primarily funded by two investors- Blume Ventures and Kalaari Capital. Mettl was recognized among the top 50 startups in the world with TiE50 Award in 2013. It even received the honor of being called one of the most interesting IT projects by Thomas Friedman of New York Times.
