Muzikali is an online platform that connects people interested in learning music to qualified music educators in their locality. Started a few weeks back by Sreerekha and Roshan Cariappa, the company aims to create an online music marketplace that allows students to find and book lessons with the best local music instructor.

Muzically lets music learners choose from the widest variety of musicians, genres and instruments and avail free tutorials and content tailored to their interest. It also track learners' progress and benchmark them locally and internationally.

Apart from helping music aspirants to learn music, Bangalore based startup Muzikali also provide platform to talented musicians; many talented musicians hear this often enough to abandon thoughts of a serious music career and get "real" jobs. Muzikali is here to broaden the horizon and create opportunities for the aspiring musicians.

A graduate from NIT Surathkal, Sreerekha worked with Infosys for 10 years before she started her entrepreneurial journey. ‘I had this idea of doing something in the music space, brainstormed the idea with my mentor Srini and we came up with Muzikali. I scouted for someone with the same vision and passion to partner with and found Roshan who is an entrepreneur himself and a musician’ she said.

"I realized it's not an easy task to find the right teacher, even if I do, commute was a problem. Many of my friends /colleagues expressed the same concern of finding a good music teacher in the nearest locality. That's when this thought of connecting the right teacher to student leveraging technology struck in". The platform creates value to the instructors by providing tools to manage and grow their music business.

"With this being a unique thing in the market we understand the challenges faced in driving users to the platform. We are simplifying the process of finding the right teacher ensuring a quality music education. This requires creating an inventory of the best music teachers", says Sreerekha.

The users can select teacher, location and the type of lesson, look up the teacher's profiles and book the lessons on the platform which is very convenient and easy. On the other hand, the platform also connects music educators to opportunities, helping them sustain and grow their music business.

With a small team being mentored by Srinivas Seshadri, Rajnish Menon (Director, Start-ups at Microsoft) and Vani Sateesh (a Carnatic vocalist with two decades of music experience), the company is spending a lot of effort in building the ecosystem. "Our endeavour is to create a great user experience for both technical and non technical users. Our strategy is to use the latest technologies to bring in this experience on various devices", says Roshan.

Sreerekha suggests all future entrepreneurs to take risks and do what they love. "Try the entrepreneur roller coaster ride at least once!!" she says. "Listen to everyone, but follow your heart!"
