MIT Global Startup Labs India 2014

World's ace technical institute Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) has invited for the MIT Global Startup Labs India program in Bangalore, for an intensive 6 week part-time mobile/internet technology startup accelerator and software development workshop. The program will be held in Bangalore between June 17 and July 25.

Interested students from prestigious schools/colleges can fill & submit complete this online application form. Last date for applications is May 25 . However, selection will be done on a rolling basis and so earlier applications are encouraged.

This year, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology has partnered with Kyron, a top accelerator and venture capital firm, to offer a phenomenal product development workshop. The technical and business curriculum will be taught by alumni and current student instructors from MIT's business and engineering schools.

MIT Global Startup Labs is a multidisciplinary group of MISTI (MIT International Science and Technology Initiatives) that promotes development in emerging regions by cultivating young technology entrepreneurs.

Applications are invited from teams as well as individuals. For individuals without teams, program instructors will help form teams in the first week of the program. Each team will be required to form an idea utilizing mobile and web technologies, produce a business plan for this product, prototype the product, and then demo the product at the end of the program. Demo Day will be a chance for teams to network with potential investors to secure funding to take their ideas to the next level. Throughout the program, teams will have incredible access to mentors from industry and the MIT GSL network.

There will be two courses of instruction: (1) Technical/Design/Prototyping/Innovation (2) Entrepreneurship; The technical curriculum will focus on current mobile and web technologies and development practices, such as 3d printing, Arduino, Android, Django, Python, Heroku, etc. The entrepreneurship curriculum will focus on elucidating the problems that teams would like to solve, how to productize a solution, creating a viable business out of the product, and pitching and taking the solution to market.

Selected participating students shall get the post completion certification from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
