A new website Megavenues.com is a marketplace for event venues that allows venue owners to list their properties i.e. banquet halls, open air venues, meeting & conference rooms, wedding and reception venues, art galleries and enables users to search and connect to venues instantly.
Megavenue is an event venue marketplace startup based out of Pune, India launched 8 months back in September 2013 and currently caters online event venue marketplace for 7 major cities in India including Pune, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Goa and Delhi.
The website is pretty much similar as how you use Zomato.com to search restaurants and food deliveries outlets online. The interface of Megavenues have large text box to search venue for you choice of event in your chosen city. One can search venue by name or event type or can also browse venues in categories such as wedding/reception, meetings, conferences, birthday party or private party.
For venue owners, the website is currently generating event leads worth about Rs 2.5Cr/week and apparently this number is growing every week the online startup is set to increase the coverage in new cities soon.
The startup is currently a team of 37 including development, design, digital marketing, business development, sales, content creation and interns. The startup is self funded startup and till now have not funded from anywhere else.
