In early 2000's Winamp is most popular and most common media player among PC users of that time.Winamp was developed by Justin Frankel and Dmitry Boldyrev in 1997 as a freeware.

Winamp was created by Nullsoft in 1997 as a community supported media play ans has been most used media player worldwide. The Winamp creator company Nullsoft was than acquired by AOL in 1999, also created SHOUTcast, Gnutella (open source) and NSIS (open source installer used by Winamp, Dropbox, Firefox and others)

Winamp was initially developed for Windows but later it was also available for Android and Mac OS X in beta versions and an alpha version for Linux was also released.

The introduction of smartphones and MP3 players has now faded the PC media player usage, this might be one of the reason Winamp PC media player might cease to exist.

I have used winamp for several years and I feel really bad about this. VLC and KM player replaced this.

Nostalgia.

Thanks for the post

Although I still use Winamp on my android, i surely feel that winamp failed to evolve with times. It's not that user friendly and has often crashed or behaved abnormally. Anyways.. change is the only thing constant
