Aromazeia, an initiative launched to spread out the bank of knowledge of Mother Nature through pain relief oils and a wide variety of natural products.
Kanpur-based Aromazeia manufactures pain relief oils, attars, jams and herbal teas to relieve pain and change lives forever the natural way. A father-daughter duo has launched the venture together on 01-04-2015 to enlarge family business, which is serving the society through self-developed natural products since 1911.
The idea of Aromazeia came out in Swapnil Pathak (28), Founder & CEO at Aromazeia mind when she joined her father Akhilesh Pathak(56), Founder and MD, Aromazeia in the family business. However the Aromazeia’s first product “Pain Relief Oil” has its own tale. Swapnil Pathak tells, “About 16 years back my father’s shoulder broke in an accident and led awful pain even after following the different pain relief treatments. Finally, he decided to develop pain relief oil on his own to get rid of this unbearable pain. As he knows the power of Himalayan Herbs brilliantly, he made a perfect blend of different oils in the form of “Pain Relief Oil” successfully. However, before launching this product in the market, we have distributed it for free for a long time among family friends and others to get their feedback and spend months on R&D to blend ingredients in perfect proportion. A positive response of users motivated us to promote this oil as a flagship product.” It was then that this father-daughter duo decided to take this pain relief oil to a national level under “Aromazeia”.
As the generations of the family had devoted their lives to find and develop the best aromatic products for varied use, none other than knows the power of Himalayan herbs better than them. Furthermore, Akhilesh Pathak has been working in the field of manufacturing of essential oils & attars for 33 years. His knowledge of this field is commendable as he has innovated organic grade base attar, which is appreciated by the users worldwide. Akhilesh Pathak shares, “Our attar not just smells good but, also has amazing health & beauty benefits. Plus, “pain relief oil” is another great creation which is magical in different types of pain. Apart from these, he has created many more beautiful fragrances & flavors. Akhilesh Pathak shares, “The venture is our love for nature. Our solo ambition is to spread this love all around the globe.
A Shift from Engineering to Manufacturing Herbal Products
Before pursuing her love for nature, Swapnil completed her engineering in Electronics and Telecommunication from Pune. Afterward, she did PG Diploma in Aroma Technologies to understand the power of Mother Nature better. To make everything perfect, Swapnil did everything on her own from the designing of products to website development and its promotions. She wants to make Aromazeia a full-fledged unit for manufacturing a wide range naturally made oils, aromas and lots other natural medicinal products with an aim to bring the world closer to nature. Thus to make it available to the people all over the world, Swapnil decided to start a new production where Attars and Essential oils are produced in Kannauj And rest in Uttarakhand factory. Swapnil claims, “We develop here different types of attars and aromas of Himalayan herbs to deliver around the world in a safe and sound way.”
Substantially Enhancing Business Performance
Perhaps, Aromazeia performance improved substantially. Swapnil Pathak validates, “We started in the year 2015 and our sale had been around 44 lakhs from 1st April 2015 till 31st of October 2016.” The company is self-funded as it is supported by family business. She adds, “One of the biggest advantages you get when you are working with your dad, you don’t have to look for the investors outside. But it doesn’t mean I am allowed to spend as much money as I want to. I have always been given a very low budget and to manage everything in that.”
The Overpowered Challenges
The challenges this young entrepreneur faced were starting from a small town and maintaining quality standard as competing in the international market was not that much easy. Swapnil researched extensively to understand the international market norms and for giving the manufacturing unit pollution free environment, took a lot of time, hard work & patience. Pathak shares, “In this competitive environment, we can’t ignore the role of product designing. Starting from the small place was challenging and as far as brand image is concerned, package design is as essential as its quality. Though we never compromised on the quality part and maintaining the international standard when it comes to the preparation of products and their packaging.”
She believes, it is really important to make sure that your product is attractive enough to draw customer’s attention towards your product in a crowded retail shop. Afterward, the role of its performance & quality comes, which makes the customer come back to you and buy it again. So as far as product styling was concerned, Swapnil decided to do everything on her own.
Products Exclusivity Is Real USP
Coming to Aromazeia pain relief oil, it is very different from the array of pain relieving oils flooding the market. Pathak declares, “Some of the ingredients used in it have never been used by anyone else before. While menthol is one of the common components in most of the pain relieving oils, we aren’t using it at all. Our pain oil is based on Ayurveda & Aromatherapy and the result is surely not temporary. We have even worked on its odor to give it a pleasant smell.” Explaining about organic tea, he tells, “Our black orthodox tea is the finest grade tea available in Uttarakhand, known as Super Fine Tippy Golden Flowery Orange Pekoe (SFTGFOP).” Swapnil concludes, “Since the day we started, our first priority has always been the quality of the products and to deliver them to the buyers in the purest form. And this is what we are going to go ahead with.” Aromazeia’s herbal teas, culinary herbs, preservative-free jams & fruit chutneys are also being processed and packed in the Himalayas at a height of 6000ft.
