National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM) has announced on Tuesday that it would set up a startup warehouse in Odisha that aims to incubate and provide hand-holding support to IT startups in the state. The announcement was made at the end of the NASSCOM’s three-day leadership meet in Bhubneswar yesterday.

The NASSCOM also reiterated its commitment to explore further opportunities to partner with the Odisha state government.

The state government would provide a 5,000 sq ft space in the Odisha Computer Application Centre (OCAC) here to NASSCOM for the startup warehouse, state IT secretary P K Jena told a news conference here in presence of NASSCOM chairman C P Gurnani and president R Chandrasekhar.

The NASSCOM has its startup warehouses operational in cities like Bengaluru, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Pune, Kochi, Visakhapatnam, New Delhi, Chennai, Noida and Gurgaon (virtual warehouse).

NASSCOM chairman CP Gurnani said, components such as the education policy, skill development, start-ups, digital Odisha and Smart City Bhubaneswar have to co-exist and work in tandem to attract major investment for the IT industry.

To recall, in March this year NASSCOM has signed MoU with Andhra govt. to set up a startup warehouse in Vizag.

Nasscom’s ambitious 10000 Startups initiative aims to enable funding, acceleration and incubation support to 10,000 technology startups in India by year 2023.
