Mumbai-based Nazara Games has made an undisclosed investment in London-based mobile games studio TrulySocial, along with London Venture Partners and Drussila Hollanda-Gronberg, who is a game lead at mobile game developer, Supercell.
The startup plans to launch a social world game for mobile phones and tablets specifically targeting women. The game would create real-life situations and weekly updates for individual player experiences by the end of 2016.
“The women-centric genre is a very important space for us to target. There’s a largely untapped gaming audience in India and their product has the potential to gain over 1 million downloads in a relative short time-span, among women in both tier 2 and 3 (cities), as well as the metros,” said Manish Agarwal, CEO of Nazara Games.
