Already having run a business for quite some time, the founders decided to take things to a new level. They decided to take their store to the online market and compete with the giants of e-commerce.
Faridabad-based e-commerce startup – The Pehnava, is an e-commerce clothing store. Earlier they had a family business of the same things but with the advancement in technology, they decided to go all out. They launched an online version of their store which sells ethnic clothing for men and women. Apart from the usual e-commerce services they have come up with a new concept of custom tailoring designer wear, which is very popular with the women.
MEET THE MAKERS
The founders of the startup are Aanchal Makhija and Ankkit Makhjia who also owned the family business together.
Aanchal Makhija– She is a dentist by her studies but prefers to be an entrepreneur by profession. She has done her MBA Entrepreneurship from NMIMS Mumbai after which she started her own venture.
Ankkit Makhija– He is an hotelier turned Entrepreneur. He has done his graduation from Napier University, UK. He is a certified digital marketer and he has accolades and awards because of CSR activities.
Their target market is men and women alike who love ethnic clothing. They have a huge collection of ethnic wear for women and men to choose from. So far they only have a wide range of women ethnic wear but are soon going to launch their products for men as well.
Their USP is the fact that they are most centered in their products, they have chosen one category and are working very hard to excel in it. Besides that, another exclusive feature they have is designer custom tailoring, which no other startup is doing so far. They have tie ups with unknown designers all over India for this very reason. They also give their customers the liberty to give customizations if necessary.
They are currently in the bootstrapped phase with around 10-20 Lakh in the pot. Also, they are currently in talks with certain angel investors and are expecting their seed fund in a couple of months.
PLAN OF ACTION
They have had a steady start with their startup. They have around 10-20 orders per month on an average so far which gives them a revenue generation of approximately INR 6,50,000 per month. They are very active on social media where they have a lot of loyal and good followers. They get good reviews of their products on their social media pages as well.
They are coming up with ideas for events and outdoor activities for the coming months. They are also coming up with a new section for men ethnic wear this very month. Also, they are working on some new ideas and also coming up with new breakthrough ideas.
