It’s 21st century but still there are a few areas in our country India which remain deprived of the basic necessities of life such as electricity. A Trivandrum, Kerala based cleantech startup is here to make a difference and has become a baton of hope for the several areas of the country engulfed in blankets of darkness. Having based out of Kerala, they have started with their mission from there.
The startup Avant Garde Innovations is making this impossible task come true by the help of their wind turbine generators that are extremely easy on pocket but at the same time high on performance. Such has been the startup’s passion and work that it has been receiving rave reviews and accolades from all around the world ever since its launch.
The startup which was invited by ‘The Alliance for Climate Protection‘, a US based non-profit organization, to the recently concluded Climate Reality Leaders meet at Manila in Philippines, is now the lucky few who have been shortlisted to showcase its stellar product at the prestigious ‘Festival of Innovations‘ currently ongoing at Rashtrapati Bhavan. The startup will showcase its small wind turbine.
Founded in 2015 by Arun George the startup has aims to introduce innovative, affordable and sustainable solutions that take renewable energy self sufficiency and energy empowerment to the next level through a distributed & decentralized approach.
The startup has an aim of electrifying each and every rural area of India as electricity is one basic right that shouldn’t be denied to any human being on this planet. Currently, their focus area are the rural areas of Kerala.
“Our low cost, highly efficient, small wind turbine will be available at a revolutionary breakthrough price of around Rs 40,000 per Kilowatt hour (KWh) compared to the existing competitor prices of Rs.2.5 lakh per KWh for Solar and Rs.4 to 6 lakh /KWh for a Small Wind turbine,” said Avant Garde Innovations founder director Arun George in a statement to an Indian daily.
In 2015, the company made news when it was invited to the United Nations Convention on Climate Change in Paris to attend the ‘UN Caring for Climate Business Forum‘. The UN Industrial Development Organization has also identified the wind turbine generators as one of the Top twenty cleantech innovations in India.
