When we asked to Parcelled founders what prompted them to start this startup the said – “In today’s fast paced world the most valuable thing is time and not money. People waste hours traveling to post offices or standing in lines. In some case that might save a couple of bucks but in every case that costs a lot of lost time. We want to end this pain point for customers which no one else can do. You have to take an additional trip to a stationary to figure out the packaging usually. But when you use us you don’t have to think about anything. You just have to place an order, a 2 minute process and we will be there at a time and place of your convenience. Could it be any easier?”

The thought behind the service is that “if everything gets delivered at your doorstep why shouldn’t it get picked up from there?” Parcelled brings post office to your doorstep rather than you going to it.

With a couple of taps (thanks to Parcelled mobile app), a customer can schedule a pick up and within 30 minutes the item is picked up, packed and shipped.

Team at Parcelled has also grown exponentially over the past few months. The startup now has more than 200 people on the ground and a 60+ team taking care of everything else. “Makes me very happy and proud that the consumers are really liking the idea and going for it and we are able to serve them the best way possible. We are already present in 5 cities Pune, Bangalore, Mumbai, Delhi and Jaipur. The plan is to be present in every city and we are growing as quickly as possible while maintaining quality”, said Parcelled representative in a statement to IndianWeb2.

Within six months if its launch the startup had managed to raise funds, in July this year, from Tracxn Labs and the fresh funds are being used for that specific purpose as well as the for the tech. The company will also use the funds to expand services to at least eight cities over the next six months.

India’s logistics industry was valued at around $130 billion in 2012-13, according to the latest figures available with India Brand Equity Foundation, a trust established under the commerce ministry.

From 2 digit orders a day back in April, to now handling 2,500+ orders a day, Parcelled has experiencing a rather rapid expansion.

The startup is being leaded by five of its co-founders – Xitij Kothi, Nikhil Bansal, Rikin Kachhia, Prateek Bhandari and Abhishek Srivastava. Prateek takes of marketing, Rikin and Nikhil both ex-flipkart are the minds behind the awesome tech, Abhishek takes care of all the operations and Xitij works with all the teams trying to build the best possible service.

The statup has tie ups with almost every logistics player, delhivery, fedex, bluedart etc. So after Parcelled do the pickup in the places the company don’t have its ground fleets, the package is handed over to the third party partner. The startup then maintain timelines that it provide by rigorous follow up tech it has built to coordinate with them. the startup also get cheaper rates from them as it has large volumes of shipment everyday compared to a single customer shipment, so taking all this into account Parcelled is able to keep it cheap, have the largest network over 19,000 pin codes and is keeping up to be the fastest.

In a message to entrepreneurs, the founders uninanimously said – “The biggest part of starting up is learning at each and every step. We learn daily from the time we spent in figuring out solutions to this common problem and gathering feedback from our consumers. We have learned a lot since we started and the key to success is to keep on learning. You won’t always be successful in the first try.”
