Delhi-based ed-tech startup, a exam preparation platform, on Monday said it has closed the seed funding for Rs. 1.37 crore from angel investors like Nalin Jain, President and CEO at GE, a McKinsey & Co Director and other angel investors.

edu4share is an online marketplace for all types of educational content – Books, Distance learning programs, e-learning courses, personal notes and peer to peer mentorship programs.

The startup was founded in 2011 by Ashvini Jakhar, an ex-Naval Officer and alumnus of ISB and McKinsey & Company and Jerry Jose, an alumnus of HEC Paris and Goldman Sachs. The startup however launched Edu4share’s (go-to-live date) in January this year.

Students can choose from a list of exam preparation resources – be it books, e-learning content, mock exams, learning devices, coaching material or personal notes, be it new or used. It also includes guidance from students who have cleared these entrance exams in last 1-2 years.

Leading online content providers like Toppr, Learnpedia, Entrance India,TestFunda, Plancess and Practiceguru now sell on Edu4share. Furthermore, Edu4share has already taken it’s footprint to top campuses of the country. Currently, more than 200 mentors from top institutes such as IIT-Delhi, IIT-Mumbai, IIT-Madras, IIM-Ahmedabad, IIM-Bangalore, IIM-Calcutta, ISB, AIIMS, AFMC and Lady Hardinge Medical College have registered on the platform.

Edu4share is now powered by a 15-member team based out of Delhi, Bangalore, Kolkata, Pune, Surat and Dubai.

“We are seeing 200% increase in organic traffic and sales month by month with highly bootstrapped marketing efforts. Good number of repeat and referral sales and high engagement time on our platform are some of the encouraging indicators for us,” says Jakhar,Founder & CEO, Edu4Share.
