Mumbai-based, waste mangagement startup Sampurn (e)arth Environmental Solutions has raised Rs.1 crore in its first round of funding from Intellecap Impact Investment Network (I3N) and a Zurich-based Family Office fund.
The startup provide end-to-end decentralized waste management solutions for housing societies, corporate houses, townships, school and college campuses, etc. The fund raised will be used by the startup for scaling up its model.
The startup has been founded in 2012 by three college mates Ritvik Rao, Debartha Banerjee and Jayanth Nataraju. They all hold a masters degree in Social Entrepreneurship from the Tata Institute of Social Science. See our complete story of Sampurna.
Sampurna provides end-to-end, decentralized and customized waste-management solutions including dry waste collection and processing, biogas plant installation, e-waste management, composting and consulting services. It also offers value-added services such as waste audits, impact assessment and reporting.
The funding received by the startup is too less compared to other startups in the country, that are being funded almost every day, it is because in India there are not much investors who are keen to invest in social impact startup startups such as Sampurna.
Notably, I3N is the country’s first angel network of high net worth individuals and institutional investors in the social sector.
