Google today announced an interesting new feature to Inbox for Gmail that let you snooze an email that has dates and times (like event confirmations or shipping notifications). With snooze feature you can snooze an email – to make it pop up again in the future – at a time that’s more convenient.
Notably, this feature is not available for regular Gmail App but a separate app called Inbox for Gmail launched by Google last year. Inbox is a newer email client by Google, which collects and organizes emails to highlight “important info at a glance”.
According to Official Gmail blog post, when you snooze an email that has dates and times, such as package tracking or event confirmations, you get a one-tap option to snooze to exactly the right time — such as the morning your package will arrive the day of a concert. Then, the email will appear at the top of your inbox when it’s most critical for you to see it.
You’ll see these new Snooze options on most of these types of emails:
- Package tracking updates
- Restaurant and event reservations
- Calendar invites
- Flight confirmations
- Hotel reservations
- Rental car reservations
