Robin Dhanwani unlike his other batchmates left an IT job to work with a design studio. While managing UX and design projects there, he regularly needed help with frontend development and worked with many Web Development agencies but was always disappointed. And that’s when he realized that getting work done to perfection was a nightmare as tech companies and developers never understood the nuts & bolts of design and never paid attention to design details.

This is how the idea of Code Parallel came to Robin. This Bangalore based startup was formed with their core philosophy of writing ‘code which is parallel to design’. With just 5 months into business, they are already working with clients like Roadmojo, Explara, Verayu.

“Our differentiation lies in our approach and specialization. Today when most companies talk about being a one stop shop and offer everything, we decided to do only on Frontend Development and the be the best and be equally good in technology & precision.”, says Robin. This difference in approach differentiates them from hundreds of other companies who offer similar services. “we cater only to a small set of people who are obsessed with precision in the execution, which are designers/agencies who have created these designs and want to work with someone who would do justice to their designs.”, he added.

They have a strong team of 7 people and work on front end technologies like HTML5, CSS3, Javascript and modern frameworks like Angular.JS, Twitter Bootstrap and SASS. With the founder having worked in both technology and design roles,, the company is in a good position to bridge the gap between design and technology. They are currently profitable and plan to grow to a team size of more than 20 people in the next one year. They would be building some tools and frameworks for designers/developers and make them available for free to contribute back to the community.


We asked robin about his journey and how it was to get the first client and he said, “Initial few days were tricky, especially being a solo founder but they were exciting times and taught a lot. Projects didn’t convert because we didn’t have a team and employees were not interested since we didn’t have many projects. Hence I decided to take up few projects which we were not keen on doing just to get going but quickly corrected the course to our core focus and started saying no to requests in directions we didn’t want to head to.” He believes in focusing on work and working hard to build a brand.

When asked to give one advice to the future entrepreneurs and he very humbly said “Its too early for me to advice people but all I would say is you don’t need to find a billion dollar idea to start-up. Just look around yourself and start by solving a real point, and things will unfold themselves.”
