Vevo is all new music video website devoted exclusively to streaming music videos, the website is developed and hosted by YouTube, Sony, and Google, with content being initially provided by Universal Music Group, Sony Music and EMI. Noticeably, this is the first time that YouTube hosts content off its main website and said to be the largest music oriented website on the Internet. Vevo was launched yesterday night in a Party at New York and the party have all the big names of western music industry such as Bono, lady Gaga, Mariah Carey and Vevo was introduced by famous singer Rihanna on youTube. VEVO videos will be available on VEVO.com and on YouTube.com via a VEVO-branded watch page - http://www.youtube.com/vevo, however the website is NOT available in many countries right now such as India and UK.

YouTube will be able to show more HD(High Quality Definition Videos) upto 1080 Pixels. Up from YouTube's maximum output of 720p today, YouTube's HD mode will be adding support from next to view videos in 720p or 1080p, depending on the resolution of the original source. More HD Quality videos means improved sharpness in videos with visual clarity and difference is more noticeable in videos that have fast movements and in full-screen mode. For those who have already uploaded the 1080 p resolution videos YouTube will be rencoding those videos from next week with same 16:9 aspect ratio. YouTube has made this up-gradation attempt so as to cope-up with increasing resolution of consumer cameras  YouTube users use to upload their videos. Noticeably, CBS.com and TV.com has got the highest video resolution of 1920x1080 P, from next week onwards YouTube will catch up the pace to showcase highest resolution videos on web and even able to let user upload HDTV quality videos.

Youtube is down again for maintenance and this time too its unscheduled, interestingly its second time in just one month of period that such all of sudden downtime occurs and that's too unscheduled. On Sunday  mid-night (1st Nov.09) IST youtube pages are showing up downtime maintenance message. Moreover, there is no twitter updates nor a blog posts from Youtube's behalf that can clarify whatsoever reason of downtime. Youtube's videos are used in millions of websites, blogs and webpages across the web through direct embedding and Youtube APIs and such downtime obviously made them (videos) broken too. Till time there is no acknowledgment from Youtube or Google for this unscheduled downtime, such unscheduled downtime is making Youtube unreliable.

You might have seen a common and lucrative feature on Facebook as - "You may know these people" or commonly known as "Friends Suggestion". Youtube is also trying to put in similar feature for sharing of Videos, channels and if you have your YouTube account linked to your Gmail account than it fetch the information from your address book to suggest you YouTube channels of people who might be your acquaintances. Youtube will be launching this - "You may know these people" suggestions box on the homepage over the next few weeks as per Youtube Blog post. In addition to all this feature you'll only see channels whose owners have allowed themselves to be found by others who have their email address and for your videos to be viewed by other you need to allow them to be viewed under your privacy settings. Although using such a social networking feature on an entertainment video portal is awkward for some people even then its NOT something unacceptable for Youtube as it has advantage of being Google's product and importantly Gmail, its something Youtube should have done this much earlier than now.

A new video that got viral in just one day is a video shot of protest in Iran, where a man has shot in head and gruesomely killed and people around are busy taking pictures/ videos with their mobile phones. This disturbing video has already got over 1k visits in just few hours of its posting on Youtube. YouTube has finally launched its Indian version - YouTube.co.in, displaying whole lot of Indian videos, as goes by Official YouTube India Blog, the site is just a lens of its global version i.e. youtube.com, and its Indian counterpart contains all the videos that the global site has, its just that YouTube.co.in is localized version reflecting what Indians, Indian diaspora or people who just love India is watching on youtube. YouTube.co.in has provided an ease to Indian audience who otherwise would have filtered out the results for themselves waisting some more time out of their "Orkutism", let put it this way, what Google.co.in is for web search is YouTube.co.in for YuTube videos. YouTube has launched YouTube Remixer (Beta), a service powered by Adobe Premiere Express to alllow Youtube users to edit their videos online on YouTube itself. This seems to be an effort to engage youtube audience especially frequent users/ uploaders to spent more time on the site. This service lets YouTube users assemble new video in an easy drag-and-drop timeline and with a simple interface supports insertion of graphics, text and audio as well as overlays and in-video transitions and then publish it right back to YouTube.
